Announcing New Advanced In-Person Craft Workshops
Workshops Are Here In Las Vegas… All these workshops are advanced craft focused. You will be doing a lot of writing while here. And each workshop, similar to this year, will be two-genre focused. And each will have a Study-Along class going on at the same time online on Teachable. And each will be followed by a novella challenge class to do a novella in two weeks on the workshop topic. Monthly Cover Fun
At Least Fun for Me… Every month with Smith’s Monthly I get to do all the covers for the short stories in the issue, plus the exterior cover. And sometimes I put the covers here. This month was fairly easy, actually. There are ten short stories in this issue and one novel. But the six of the short stories are in a collection I put together, so I had already done the covers and the cover for the collection. (The entire collection is in the issue.) The 70 @ 70 Project
THE SUMMARY… This challenge was to publish 70 major books from my 70th birthday to my 71st birthday. (A major book is a novel, a novella, a collection, and any major editing project with my name as editor on the cover.) Individual short stories do not count. Five Collections
Part of My 70 in 70 Challenge That’s right, five collections published in one day. I had a lot of fun putting these together. And I did the covers and everything, just as in the collections classes. I seldom, and I do mean seldom, ever tell anyone here about books I publish, but having five collections in one day is kind of fun. So figured I would mention it. Pictures of Fun Box of Books
Photo of 48 Novels Not Easy to Take… Spread them on a work table Kris and I have outside our offices and then stood on a couch to take the photo. Kris came out and said, “That’s impressive.” I asked “What? The 48 novels or me standing on the couch?” She said “Both.” So some pictures of the 48 novels I got yesterday in one big box. Fun Box of Books
A Very Heavy Box Arrived Today… Turns out it was 47 of my novels. Not copies the same book, but 47 different novels. One copy of each. Not at all sure which books I am missing still. I will have to go back through and compare them to Smith’s Monthly, which has 52 books out at the moment that were in there. (Actually 53.) I know I don’t have the two of the last three.
