    Write Stuff Story Bundle

I Spent Too Much Time Tonight On Other Stuff… So you get a reminder that this really great Storybundle is happening. Here is Kris’s blog about it since she put the bundle together with some great writers. This is an amazing group of writing books and one of our workshops in one Storybundle. Let me have Kris tell you about it. THE 2024 WRITE STUFF BUNDLE The 2024 Write Stuff Bundle – Curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch Every year, I put together a bundle on writing. The Write Stuff Storybundle Launched…

Curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch This is an amazing group of writing books and one of our workshops in one Storybundle. Let me have Kris tell you about it. THE 2024 WRITE STUFF BUNDLE   The 2024 Write Stuff Bundle – Curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch Every year, I put together a bundle on writing. Every year, I find new concerns and ways to help writers market their work. I also find inspiration books on craft and keeping the faith as writers struggle with the blank page. This year’s bundle has four distinct elements. First, the all-important craft. J. Daniel Sawyer teaches you how to put words on the page…

    Update On Injuries…

Almost Five Weeks Since Surgery… Thanks, everyone, for all the great well-wishes. Very much appreciated. So here is an update… Things are improving for me and my new titanium shoulder. But still issues. Still sleeping sitting up which does not allow good rest. Still typing with one hand which causes me to get behind at times on things. With luck that will change in the next week or so and my letters won’t be so short. PT folks are nice, but wow is that painful, which drains me especially with the lack of good sleep. I am out of the brace and now trying to train my arm to hang…

    5 am…

I’m Up Still Doing Assignments… Typing (if you call it that) with one hand still. Very slow. But the fine folks at PT want me to slowly live a little more each day without the brace. Yay… Progress. And I am back driving. Huge progress… I hope to bring the writing back up as soon as I can type with both hands. Soon. Blogs will get longer when that happens. (grin) And assignments won’t take me until 5 am.

    Typing With One Hand Sucks…

Another Week or So With The Brace… Sorry some emails back have been short.  Two quick updates… January in-person reading list will go out soon to everyone plus Study Along. Still time to sign up. Write me. 15 spots left in the July Anthology Workshop. Again, write me if interested. PT went well. Exhausted as expected. More tomorrow.

    First Full Day…

Beat Way To Describe It… Ouch! Not taking any opioids, so pain managed by regular stuff, and managed is a little euphemistic to say the least. I am in a big brace that Ron Collins came up, and helped me and Kris figure out how to get me in an out of the brace and a garbage bag over my huge bandage so I could shower. THANK YOU RON!!!!! Excited about how well the new special stretch reward on the Kickstarter is doing. We’re trying to get to 160 backers by Sunday evening. Take a look and please pass the word. Really appreciate that. Thank you, everyone, for all the…

    Made it Home…

Long Day… Hunting and pecking to make sure I get my blog done. Kris will update you on her Facebook page. Wearing a massive brace on my right arm so going to take some time to set the keyboards so I can use both hands with the brace. My first surgery in 72 years and first broken bone(s) in 72 years. Nurses and doctors were always shocked when they first looked at my age and asked how I fell and I said running a 5K. Seemed all went well. Kris knows more about that. I am home and alive. I want to thank Chris and Steve York for putting up…

    First Run of the Year…

Yes, Kris Beat Me… I got up over five hours ahead of when I normally get up, so that was fun (not). But this year the temperature was perfect. And we were joined by Ron and Lisa Collins and Bridget Collins. And I did more running than I expected to do after my failed summer of getting in shape. I managed about a quarter of a mile straight running, then ran a block and walked a block. I got a distance ahead of Kris, but she caught me just after the two mile mark. I ran another block and got back ahead of her, then she caught me for good…

    The Promised Running Post

I Finished… It was not pretty, but I finished and that is all that counts. A number of days back I did a post about finishing the 5K on Saturday in cold and wind and stunning amounts of rain. What I didn’t mention that was when I got home after a fun dinner with Lisa and Ron Collins and Brenda and Dave Hendrickson, four hours had gone by and when I took my shoes off, there was a puddle on the floor and my socks were soaking wet. And worse yet, my feet looked like prunes and all my carefully built-up protection from blisters was gone. Now, I am stunningly…
