Results of the Race… And Pictures…

A Fun Morning… What was not fun was getting up smack in the middle of my night with 4 hours sleep. Nope, not fun. But wow was this Candlelighters Run well done! They had over a thousand people in this nifty park and running in the 5K. It started off into a suburb near the park and never left. That’s right, I was running in Bryant Street. But all the kids and superhero costumes were so much fun. It got hot really quickly on pavement. Wow. Kris got about a minute’s head start on me in the crowds, but I caught her in about ten minutes and went past. I…

    Here I Go Again…

Tomorrow, First Run… Far, far too early in the morning, but for a great cause, a children’s cancer fund. 5K Now the great plan that started back in July didn’t pan out real well, even though I did a ton of things right. I managed for almost two months to do more than 5K in steps per day, so far without missing more than a couple of times. Some days past 10K in steps and some running. I also made sure that every day I ate less in calories than I spent. I had almost no misses since the first of August. I had hoped to lose one pound per…

    Smith’s Monthly #53 Published

I Got a Little Carried Away… This monthly issue has 85,000 words in it. Yikes. Since I am working on another new Thunder Mountain novel, I thought I would put the very first one in this issue, along with nine short stories (four new, five in the serialization of Stories from July. The first Thunder Mountain novel (called simply THUNDER MOUNTAIN) was actually in Issue #2 of Smith’s Monthly in November 2013 with a very different cover on it. So anyway, thought I would note the publication today of Issue #53 of Smith’s Monthly.  All 85,000 words of it. Yikes!! Here is the link to the page on WMG Publishing.…

    So Close to Stretch Goal…

Maybe We’ll Hit it By Morning… On the Spade/Paladin Kickstarter campaign, we are almost to the last stretch goal we had posted when we started. But no fear, Kris and I tomorrow (Friday) will post two more. We’re just trying to decide what to post. So right now I am having ups and downs on the computer connection again, so going to get this up quickly. Back tomorrow with the new stretch goals even if we don’t hit it tonight. UPDATE: Told this didn’t actually show up until this morning… So kind of a silly post since we did hit the stretch goal and I will be back shortly with…

    Difference In Types of Workshops

I Got That Question… What is the difference in the types of workshops you do ONLINE? On Teachable. Figured it was a good question. So I decided I would just explain all the workshops we do in a quick summary. And wow do we do a lot of workshops. So going from short to long… Lectures… Short, very focused on one tight topic. Takes about 45 minutes to watch. Do at your own pace. Pop-Ups… Takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to watch, on average. Focused on one business or writing topic. Has a short story you can write for it as well. Do at your own pace. Special…

    Cover Fun

As I Do Every Month… First, before covers, I would like to thank those of you who sent ideas for Pop-Up classes. The ones online I tried to explain why the might or won’t work. Might want to check my reasons, but still got some great ideas, so thanks!! These covers below are the covers I did tonight in a few hours for the next Smith’s Monthly Issue, (actually 1 hour and 35 minutes, including finding art.) I didn’t have to find the art for next month’s issue. Allyson already had that. The mountains in that image are exactly like the mountains where most of the Thunder Mountain novels take…

Coming Up With New Stretch Awards

Not An Easy Task… The Spade/Paladin Kickstarter Campaign is about $2,000 away from the top stretch goal we have listed, which includes a Pop-Up class called Automatic Depth. So Kris and I have been working to come up with one or two more stretch goals since there is still nine days left on the campaign. Now not complaining at all. The fact that we are needing to do this is very, very cool. So we will be listing some more books for readers and Pop-Up classes for writers in brand new stretch rewards on Wednesday or Thursday. So if you have any ideas of a Pop-Up you would really love…

Pictures of Fun Box of Books

Photo of 48 Novels Not Easy to Take… Spread them on a work table Kris and I have outside our offices and then stood on a couch to take the photo. Kris came out and said, “That’s impressive.” I asked “What? The 48 novels or me standing on the couch?” She said “Both.” So some pictures of the 48 novels I got yesterday in one big box. All under my name, no pen names. Something I just realized this morning. Very unusual for me as well. The novel that you can’t see because of the light at the top is LAYING THE MUSIC TO REST, my first novel published in…

    Fun Box of Books

A Very Heavy Box Arrived Today… Turns out it was 47 of my novels. Not copies the same book, but 47 different novels. One copy of each. Not at all sure which books I am missing still. I will have to go back through and compare them to Smith’s Monthly, which has 52 books out at the moment that were in there. (Actually 53.) I know I don’t have the two of the last three. But still missing a few besides those. But still a really fun sight. Very large piles of COLD POKER GANG NOVELS with the new covers and branding. Very nifty. Another bigger pile of THUNDER MOUNTAIN…

    Another Quick No Topic Post

Some Close Calls… Internet and web site seemed to be having a night. Trying to decide which will stay up and for how long. Some sort of game they are playing I’m sure. I have been putting Pulphouse Fiction Magazine anthologies together and luckily haven’t needed either. Then noticed the fun they were having and thought I had better stop and write something here to keep my blogging streak alive. 3,327 days without missing a blog. So if this posts, the streak is alive. And make sure you check out the Spade/Paladin Kickstarter campaign. Almost to the 4th stretch goal and another Pop-Up class. Fun.
