Taking Another Rest Day
I Got All Regular Assignments Done… Will finish tomorrow some assignments and letters I am behind on, then read some stories I just found from the Space Opera class that I haven’t read yet. I will do those tomorrow as well. But tonight I am going to just rest, go watch a movie, get a good night’s sleep. Nothing wrong. I know people worry that when I say I am not working until three in the morning I must be sick. But nope, just learning to take some time away from this computer a little more. Plus my one eye is forcing me away often just to be safe. And…

Up At 5:30 AM…
For a Run… I have a running group I join sometimes on Sunday mornings and for the first time in a month it will be cool enough for me to go tomorrow morning. Only about 76 degrees as the sun comes up. We are still record heat here. After this summer 76 will feel like I need a coat. (grin) Got to be out in Summerlin at 6:30 a.m. and that’s thirty minutes of driving, so up even earlier. So this is a filler post tonight. Daily streak at 2,984 blog posts without missing a day. My brain can’t really grasp that number to be honest. And oh yeah, worked…

Facebook Blog Post
Site Down for 12 Hours… And since I didn’t think it would come back up tonight and I wanted to keep the blogging streak alive, I posted a say-nothing blog on Facebook. But now, here at 2 am, the site is back up. So here is what I said on Facebook to keep my blog streak alive… ———- Blog post here tonight… Very short. 11 PM… My web site is down and even the pros and top developers at my server and another company are trying to figure out what has happened. They will get it solved, but more than likely not in time for me to write my nightly…

A Science Fiction World
I Just Finished a Long Drive… From Las Vegas, Nevada, up through Idaho and then completely across Oregon to the Oregon Coast. About twenty hours of driving or so one way, ten hours each day for four days. In the past I have loved to just get out and drive. All my friends know that about me. And sometimes I take back roads and head for places in the wilderness Kris will never go with me to again. Ever. But this time the driving and the travel was different and not fun. In the old days I would stop every hour to see something, get out and get a snack,…

Here and Working
Arrived at the Coast… Around 6:30 Pacific Time, checked into my hotel, and went to work up at the warehouse, ending around 10:30. Had some help tonight from Chris and Steve, which was great. Thanks!! Oregon was a lot better than central Nevada on the masks and my safety today. Even Eastern Oregon. No real issues and only one guy I had to step back to avoid. And Boise was great. No issue at all. So two legs of this trip down. Now comes three days of packing and work before I get to go back out on the road again and risk my life because idiots are too selfish…

Leg One Down
Ten Hour Drive from Las Vegas to Boise… Made it fine. Too much fast food, as I knew I would do. And since it was deepest, stupidest, red Northern Nevada, very few face masks in sight. I stayed over 20 feet from anyone without a mask and moved quickly. Families traveling through all had masks on their kids and seemed just as bothered as I was about the idiots. Boise has a harsh mandatory face mask rule, so fine here. I am sure Eastern Oregon will be a problem area again tomorrow. Otherwise no issue at all. Kris and I have a fairly new Cadillac SUV and it is scary…

Basic Science
Sadly, Not Always Learned… Some misinformed young woman tried to post to this blog tonight about how cloth masks do not stop the actual virus much at all and studies have proven that because the actual virus is too small. She is right. If the virus just floated all by itself in the air, a cloth mask would not stop most of them. Of course, one single virus particle does not carry the virus load needed to infect anyone in almost all cases, but that is beside the point. But thankfully, the transmission of the virus comes from someone who is infected talking or singing or shouting in a closed…

A Very Satisfying Feeling…
When the Versa on My Wrist Buzzes… That means I have hit my 10,000 steps, which is five miles for me. For those of you who don’t know, a Versa is a Fitbit in watch form, sort of like an iWatch. It gives me the time, my heart rate, my steps, my miles, and how many calories I have burned so far in the day. All on the face of the thing. I have the calories set assuming I am 180 pounds instead of 195. And there are a ton more features, including tracking my sleep every night. Up until I got this thing, I had never worn a watch,…

One Scary Long Day
Started at 6:30 am… Made a ton of progress. Got homes for most everything. Picked up, packed, and moved a ton of boxes. Didn’t get back to the room here until 9:30, so 15 hours, a lot of steps, and a ton of exercise. Got some photos of what it looked like when I started. But had great help, Chis and Steve York brought me dinner, and talked with a ton of friends stopping by. I would have some pictures that I took today, but can’t get them to load. So will do that when I get back. Working on an iPad has limitations, especially when exhausted. Don’t forget there…

Traveling… Oh, My….
Off to WMG Publishing Northern Offices… By the time most of you read this on Wednesday, I will be somewhere in the center of the Nevada desert, headed north. I will stay in a nice suite hotel in Boise, then on to Lincoln City, Oregon, on the coast, on Thursday. Then on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday all day, I will be in the WMG Publishing 7,000 square foot warehouse/office basically organizing things. This trip is organization and decisions on what I am going to be doing with a lot of things that fill that place. We first got that warehouse nine years ago when my friend Bill died and…
