    Licensing Expo Is Over…

Exhausted… Over the next few days here I will do some reports about what happened, once my mind slowly returns. And this coming week I will do videos for updates to not only the Master Business Class, but Licensing classes. I can say this right now, I learned a ton. Also helped the future of WMG Publishing a lot, talked with a large number of people, and had a lot of fun. I can not begin to tell you how amazing it was to be with eleven thousand others attending, plus the thousands in all the booths, who were all positive and looking toward the future and making deals for…

    Licensing Expo

Here in Vegas May 24th, 25th, 26th… I just put up a few more videos on the Master Business Class about the Expo. I will add in a full five to ten more videos on how to best use it this year, take your IP from your computer to a toy in a toy store, or a major game, or whatever license that would fit your IP. So those of you in the Master Business Class, watch the new videos and then stay tuned for more. Plus other  topics as well coming, including how to handle money and how to deal with taxes. Yes, it is still possible to sign…

    Playing with Licensing

Masks… Annoying and Fun… About a month ago I ordered thirty WMG masks from a company. All good except that once I was done they said they would deliver them on the 8th of August. Haven’t seen them yet, but not a chance in the world I will ever use that company again. I felt scammed. So no matter how good they look, nope, just nope… So I found another company that promised quick turn-around and reasonable prices, so I ordered a four-pack of Pulphouse masks from them and got them five days later, from London. Not kidding. And they were easy to do, looked wonderful, were comfortable, decent priced,…

    4 New Videos

On Kickstarter Best Practices That is a free service that Loren Coleman and I are doing on Teachable, trying to help fiction writers get started and understand fiction on Kickstarter. Right now, Brandon Sanderson is over 5 million in three days on his fiction Kickstarter. So this is worth studying and looking at, even as a new writer with no fans. I have seen new writers make nice money on Kickstarter. Just have to know what you are doing and follow some best practices, and that is what Loren and I have done on that location, detail out and talk about the best practices for fiction writers on Kickstater. Again,…

    Some Licensed Products

Cold Poker Gang Licensed Stuff… In the mail today I got a nifty box with another metal box inside. It was a set of poker chips in a metal case with an image of the cover of Bottom Pair on the outside of the metal case. And inside each chip was embossed in gold with the words “The Cold Poker Gang.” I put two decks of The Cold Poker Gang cards inside it in exchange for the regular cards that came with it. I get to keep it for something down the road, because no one took a set in the Kickstarter Campaign. So I get to keep this first…

    Licensing… Oh, My…

Taking A Day Or Two Away From the Novel… I will be back on Monday talking about my regular routine, but for today and tomorrow I don’t want to have to push the book into a small place and time as I have been doing. I want to give it more time. So going to get a ton of workshop and business stuff done first, then focus on the run to the end of the book. But in the mean time, licensing… It has now been suggested that we all wear face masks when going out. Now that “suggestion” from medical folks doesn’t mean we should all go out and…

    Licensing 101 Workshop

Coming Next Day Or So… Going to add a new six-week workshop to the list for March. It is called Licensing 101, basically what the name states, a six-week run-through of the basic thinking of licensing your IP. Those of you in the Licensing Transition Class will get this free with the Licensing Transition Class. So no worries there. It will add over 40 videos to the learning there. And, of course, those of you who have a Lifetime Workshop Subscription will get the workshop as well. And it will be available to sign up for normal workshop rate of $300. But if you are thinking of doing that, sign…

Four New Videos in Licensing Transition

Plus the Holiday Spectacular Funded… It officially made two stretch goals on Kickstarter, but we also took money outside of Kickstarter this time because of Kickstarter’s political problems, and we ended up also hitting the third stretch goal in total. A complete success, better than we had hoped. So everyone who supported the Holiday Spectacular will get all three stretch rewards, plus the reward they picked. Surveys going out next week. And don’t worry if you missed out on the nifty idea of getting 35 holiday stories in 35 days, we will have a web page dedicated to that where you can get a subscription to the stories. Or buy…

A Fun Book and More Videos

Pulphouse Kickstarter Hit Second Stretch Goal… That’s right, in just three days. Wow! So everyone who supports the campaign gets a free electronic book. A brand new one that will be out in the summer next year. It’s called Aliens Among Us: At Least In the Pages of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. And going forward, if we hit more stretch rewards, there are more fun books and workshops and lectures for writers. Check it out at NEW VIDEOS Also, I added five new videos into the Licensing Transition, talking about aspects of how to make certain decisions when it comes to licensing your work. A lot of videos so far in…

    Licensing Transition

A One Year Journey… Ever wondered how to get your nifty novel series or book with fun characters from a book to licensees who might want to make it into shirts, wine, movies, games, dolls, and who knows what else? That very question, the transition from IP to license is the subject of a one year course we are doing on Teachable. I just posted the last three videos on the Learn Along Licensing. And that one will go away shortly. But now, starting here on July 1st and running until July 1st, 2020 is Licensing Transition. It is not a workshop or a lecture or a pop-up or anything…
