Licensing Videos

New Videos Are Up…

In both the Master Business Class and in the Licensing Transition class.

Basically, in a nutshell, the videos that Kris and I came up with as early details from the Licensing Expo are this:

— Future looking

— Brand, not just branding of covers, but start thinking of your work and series in terms of a brand or brands.

— Learn copyright (this one most of you will ignore and it will bite you later.)

— You must attend the Expo at least once to understand this part of the business.

— Everything is image focused, so you must start slowly controlling the art for your brands.

— Be very, very organized.

Going to be a lot more about all this, more videos, more stuff here.

One definition of the word “prototype” is… “a first full-scale and usually functional form of a new type or design of a construction…”

You all understand, I hope, that if you have a piece of merchandise you can market from your brand, you can do prototypes, sell them on your own web site, use them in Kickstarters, and so on. Test them and the interest. And that does wonders in explaining a license for something from your brand to a company that can scale that prototype up to international levels and markets.

Just wanted to toss that out there.

REMINDER ABOUT THE HALF-PRICE SALE

All things on WMG Publishing Teachable are half price. Just over one week left.

Code to get a class or workshop or anything else on WMG Teachable at half price is:

SummerHoliday

Just hit the one you want, then put in the code and hit apply and the price will be half. I know this is the time of great forgetting, but a workshop or class just might help you get a little more done during this time.

That includes challenges, lifetime subscriptions, and study-along classes, as well as upcoming collection classes.

Everything.
