    The Promised Pictures

Completed the 10K… (6.2 mile run) It wasn’t pretty, but I did it. Actually, the course turned out to be 3.1 miles uphill to start, and it turned out to be a ton warmer than I expected. All desert and concrete. So I got overheated, which for a person with my heat history, is not a good thing. And the hill made it harder for a person like me who is still too heavy. I managed to stay hydrated just fine and slowed down some to even walking and running, so didn’t hit the time I was hoping for. But finished alive and without heatstroke. Win. So here are some…

    Friday Night In The Fall…

So For Me That Means An Early Run in the Morning… In fact, up at 6:30 am or so tomorrow, three or more hours before I normally get up. And tomorrow I am running a 10K (little over six miles) instead of my normal 5k runs. Seems like all fall there are runs on the weekends. Great fun, actually. My time goal is under 70 minutes, although I would love, love, love to get it under an hour. But got a hunch I will do a little too much walking to hit that. And I am still a little too heavy. We shall see how it goes. 70 minutes is…

    November and December Regular Workshops

Only Six Regular Workshops Per Month… As I said, a lot of workshops are headed to Classic Status in the first of November, and with teaching the How to Write a Pulphouse Story and How to Write a Holiday Story workshops in the next two months, we decided to not add in any more new regular workshops in the next two months. But there will be new regular workshops after the first of the year. And you can still sign up on the How to Write a Holiday Story for seven more days on Kickstarter through the WMG Holiday Spectacular. That is the only place that workshop is offered. It…

    Shared World Second Update

First Videos Going Up… They will be there later today. Not there yet. But there are still a few openings, so here is the first post about the nine-month Shared Worlds class. And my introduction video at the bottom of this. And for those of you in the class, I will email you to let you know every time I put up new videos so you don’t always have to be checking. SHARED WORLDS: What Are They, How to Do Them, and Why… This is a one-of-a-kind class. Not a workshop, not a lecture, not a study along. For years now, Kris and I have tried to figure out how…

    Almost to Stretch Goal

Just Slightly Over Halfway Done… Almost to the first stretch goal. And I think we can hit two or three more stretch goals if things go well. That would be fantastic fun. Of course, getting 35 original holiday stories delivered to you for every day of the holiday season is pretty darned cool as it is. And there are great writer workshop rewards in this one, all the way from lectures to lifetime subscriptions and even one mentorship with me for a year. And you still get the 35 stories plus a brand new Kristine Grayson holiday novel. So check it out at WMG Holiday Spectacular on Kickstarter. And if…

    At the Run

Talked with Donny Osmond for a Short Moment… About 22 or more years ago, he and I started to write a novel together. It was set up by Tekno Books and was to be a thriller. I spent a couple days on it, writing about 15,000 words and an outline, I don’t think Donny spent more than thirty minutes on it, twice talking with me on the phone. I remember vaguely that he liked it and that it would be fun. New York killed it. 22 or 23 years ago. So I barely remembered details of it and he didn’t remember it at all, which I didn’t expect him to.…

    Got To Get Up Early

To Go Run in a 5K Charity Run… Kris and I have to go out of the house at 7 a.m. at the latest. So I’m not staying up late tonight, that’s for sure. (grin) So two running pictures one year apart. Last Year at the Vegas Strong Run… I was down 45 pounds from heaviest, but still a long ways to go. Second picture this year, down 82 pounds from my heaviest. I will post pictures here when I hit 100 pounds down. What I looked like at a hundred pounds more. But these two pictures, same run, same time of year, shows some of the progress over one…

    Sometimes Just Fun

Keeping the Blog Streak Alive… Something like day 2,626 of blogs without a miss. So tonight, since I have been reading stories and such, I felt too tired to write much or post another chapter in the Trademark book, so figured I would just show you one of the covers from my Make 100 Paperbacks. Working my way right through them and having fun. So here is a new short story cover from issue three of Smith’s Monthly. Cover is front, back, and spine. I used the same art that was in the issue originally for the story.  5 x 8 inch trim. This one is the first story of…
