    Night Off

Santa Tomorrow… Me and Kris and Lisa and a number of other writers around town, plus 25,000 to 30,000 or more other humans are all going to dress up in our matching Santa outfits, hats and all, and do 5K around the streets of downtown Vegas. Oh, my, god, is that fun and just head-shaking stupid. So I will be announcing my 2022 challenge in the next few days and doing more posts on the Wet Blanket book, plus announcing some fun new workshops and classes and the start of Motivational Monday for writing and publishing. But tonight, since I have to get up slightly early, I am taking a…

    Well, That Was Fun…

Holiday Adventure And A Sale… The sale you all know about from last night. And I will answer a few questions below, but first a holiday adventure. Started off a couple days ago when Kris and I were talking about maybe not having enough turkey for leftovers because we had a small turkey and five people planning at dinner. We both really like leftover turkey for a few days, so on a whim out shopping, I grabbed a second bird. With the sale on the bird and a secondary special discount, I didn’t really notice how big it was. Turned out it was huge. And that might be an understatement.…

    Two Amazing Bundles of Books

And I Curated One of Them… First off I have a Thunder Mountain novel in the Storybundle I curated by the name of Visions of the Future. My book plus 9 other great science fiction books in there by some great writers. Kris has a Diving Novel in here as well. Image of the ten books below. Get it at Storybundle.com/future Then I also have a book in a Storybundle Robert Jeschonek curated basically called Weird. The book I have in there is a Pulphouse  short story anthology of really whacked out stories titled THAT’S REALLY MESSED UP. Great writers in that anthology, but then you look at the writers…

    Our Holiday Season Started

With A 5K Run/Walk Under the Holiday Lights Three miles of holiday lights with over 2,000 people, mostly families, in pajamas. It is held at the big Nascar track and they decorate the entire area under the grandstands, around both ends of the track, and along the edge of the big track. Three miles of some of the best holiday lights I have ever seen. For the entire holiday season it is for cars to drive around under it with their radio tuned to a holiday music channel. But to open it, they do this massive charity 5k run with everyone wearing pajamas. Families of parents, kids, and grandparents all…

    Holy Smokes… Two Bundles

Books in Two Storybundles at the Same Time… First off I have a book in the Storybundle I curated by the name of Visions of the Future. Ten great science fiction books in there by some great writers. Great writers in that anthology, but then you look at the writers in this bundle and you just shake your head. Jeschonek has outdone himself…

    Back Tomorrow…

Back to Full-Time At All This Tomorrow… Today I turned in another issue of Smith’s Monthly and did some email catch up today, but tomorrow I am going to spend most of the day catching up on email and reading manuscripts and other stuff. (Maybe a nap or two as well.) So hold on if you have been waiting for me to respond on something, I do appreciate your patience and I will be catching up tomorrow and Saturday. And after a week or so I will be starting to get ready for my new challenge. That one will take some ramp-up and I will talk about it here as…

    A Couple Updates…

Yes, I Am Still Reading… Over this last week I read a bunch of stories from the Monetize and Writing a Pulphouse Story workshops. And even made offers on two of them for Pulphouse. But since I am really working to give every story a fair shot, meaning my eye isn’t tired and I have time to read the entire story if need be, the process is slow. But I think I have about 15 stories left is all, so with luck by the end of the week. So hold on, folks. I will announce when I got them all. Tomorrow I will post here my 70@70 list and more.…

    A New Challenge

Working On It… Kris spent time with me today as I worked over a possible new challenge for next year. Not going to start anything from my birthday to my birthday again. The new challenge I am thinking about is going to take some build-up, so it will start on January 1st, 2022. And sorry, not yet going to say what the writing challenge is going to be because nothing is set. But I can say that to do this challenge, I need to lose about 20 pounds and be in shape for some distance running starting in January. Yes, losing the weight and being in shape again will make…

    Visions of the Future Storybundle

Introduction (Here is the introduction the Visions of the Future StoryBundle I wrote. It explains it pretty well. This is a good one.) Back almost two years ago, in February 2020, just before the pandemic started, I did a Storybundle with the title Visions of the Future. Thankfully, nothing about the last two years was in that bundle of great novels and stories. I don’t think many people, including the best science fiction writers, saw any of this coming in the way it did. So now I get a chance to find writers to look into the future again, only on the downward side of the pandemic. And there is…
