Two New Projects
I Am Having A Blast… Working on two new projects. One you will see in a day or so and has a lot to do with the Shared World Class. And I am madly working on finishing a new Cold Poker Gang novel for a coming bundle. Yes, it is a cat novel. Not kidding. I seldom talk about books and stories I am writing here. But got a couple short-challenges coming up I may do the old daily writing report I haven’t done for a while. We shall see. And speaking of cats, if you got the Special How to Write a Cat Story workshop reward in the Year…

New Videos Are Up
In Numbers of Classes and Challenges… New weekly videos are up in both the Publishing Challenge and the Novel Challenge. In the publishing I talk about what I did this last week in publishing and in the novel challenge I talk about my own writing, which will really pick up speed tomorrow. (Both are open for sign-ups.) New videos in the first quarter of the Decade Ahead, the first of many that will be in March this month, since March is a very important month. So four new videos there. (You can still sign up for it or for the full year.) Of course the Licensing Transition Class has the…

A Great Writing Article
Talking About Human Normal Actions… Wow, does this article give you some great writing stuff. Especially on how normal humans react to what we are facing with this virus threat. Nothing ugly, I promise. Very much worth the read for your writing. So thought I would share it. http://www.psandman.com/col/teachable.htm

Early Bird Discount Ending
Sunday is Last Day to Pay… Anthology Workshop will be March 8th through the 11th, 2021. I WAS WRONG WHEN I POSTED THIS THE FIRST TIME. 8TH THROUGH 11TH. MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. Group list will start in late summer. Writing will start in late November. We have made it cheaper for the writers to attend by moving it into weekdays, when room rates are very low, and also having it be only four days. Plus plane fare is cheaper flying in on Sunday and out on Friday. We will still do at least six anthologies, so that will not change. Just cheaper to attend. And we are making it one…

First Of The Month!
Good Time To Start A Challenge… Publishing Challenge, Short Story Challenge, or Novel Challenge. All are open and a great way to keep your goals on track for the year. And a number of writers are in sight of lifetime subscriptions on the short story challenge, one on the novel challenge, and one has already gotten a lifetime subscription on the novel challenge. Keep going, folks. Only four people are signed up for the Publishing Challenge. That one seems to scare hell out of writers. (grin) This weekend I will be doing a bunch of posts about the first of March in the Decade Ahead class. And also a bunch…

A Group of Writers
From a Long, Long Time Ago… The picture below is of Kathy Oltion, Jerry Oltion, Kent Patterson, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Dean Wesley Smith, Robert J. Howe, Christina York, Steve York and Kij Johnson in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. We had all gone to that house for a weekend of writing short stories. The picture was posted by Nina and I think was about 1991 or so. I wrote “In the Shade of the Slowboat Man” at this weekend gathering along with two other stories. And yes, wow were we all young. Wonderful to see Kent Patterson again. He died from complications of polio just a fews years or so after this was taken. I am publishing a story by Kent, Jerry, Kris, and…

Just About Done…
One More Day on the Anthology Workshop… Lots of fun, a ton of great stories, and even more great discussions about all sorts of writing and publishing stuff. So Wednesday I will be caught back up with everything. And maybe even have gotten a full night’s rest. Or at least time for a nap. (grin) And looks like the Anthology Workshop is a go for sure for next year. Email list will start in early summer and writing will start in late November. So not that far away. More details shortly, but you can sign up at any time by writing me directly. Back tomorrow after one more wonderful day…

Up Too Late…
Way Too Late It Seems… Except that I am only up to my normal time, but since I have been getting up early, Kris is worried. I hate to make her worry, but honestly I can make it on five hours of sleep a night for five days just fine. Past that, not so much, but for a major workshop like the anthology going on right now, talking with people late into the night is great fun. And only another day. And I am learning a ton and feeling very blessed for some good friends as well. If I haven’t responded to a letter you sent me today, please bare…
