    Flash Sale Ends Tomorrow…

Great Way To Stock Up… We decided to do this flash sale to help writers get through May and June and some of July until things clear and the Time of Great Forgetting is past. You can get THREE REGULAR WORKSHOPS OF YOUR CHOICE for $750 which is discounted from the $900 normal price for three regular workshops. But in this flash sale, you can get that for half off the $750 or $375,…

    USING THE FLASH SALE…

… To Keep Focused Over the Next Few Months… We are in the Time of Great Forgetting, where writers with the best of intentions and the firmest of deadlines just sort of find days and weeks and months going by with little getting done with the writing and publishing. The time lasts from the middle of April until August 1st. (Why do you think so many major movies come out during these months?) This is a time to play for the population, to garden, to travel, and especially after the last two years, we all want to get out and do anything. So Kris and I figured that a very…

    Working on a StoryBundle…

Visions of the Future… That is the title of a StoryBundle that will be out toward the end of this month. Pure science fiction. And I already have two anthologies in it, so can’t use any more anthologies or collections. I just need three more novels. And what I am looking for must have the following qualities. Science Fiction with element of the future in some way or another. Top-notch science fiction cover. First book or stand-alone book. The author must have a social media reach, since the idea behind bundles is to get ten different books and authors together and have everyone promote so that we all find new…

When a Streak Becomes A Pain

For Example… This Blogging Streak… I really just want to go downstairs and watch a half hour of television before falling into bed. But nope, got to do a blog, even though my brain is mush and I have nothing that I even care about to say, let alone something anyone else would care about. On August 1st, if I make it that long, this streak will be 3,650 days long without missing a blog. TEN YEARS WITHOUT MISSING A DAY!  Seriously, who does that? So today is 3,575 days without missing, through power outages, computer failures (number of them) and web site failures (numbers of them). So here I…

I Met Kristine Kathryn Rusch… I was living in Moscow, Idaho, in an apartment on the second floor in the Moscow Hotel right in the middle of the town and over a bar called The Garden Lounge. My second wife and I were no longer together, although I consider her a friend. I was an assistant manager and tended bar at a billiard bar. And I still drove school bus at times if they needed me to fill in. My house on the Oregon Coast had burned down one year earlier and I had lost most of the writing I had done in the previous three years, plus my first…

(Pop-Up stretch awards from the Seeders campaign should go out by Friday. I will announce it here and in an update. But starting on Monday, as a form of inflation-busting help, we are starting something new on Teachable: RECOMMENDED CLASSES OF THE WEEK. Basically a Bundle of Recommended Classes for that week. A Pithy Comment

A Good One This Week… I find a pithy comment of the week every week to add into the videos in the Motivational Monday class. This Monday is the 5th week of the second quarter. If you sign up for the entire year, you get all the ones from the first three months in the first quarter, plus the five so far this quarter. Plus all the rest coming in this year. But this week I wanted to share the quote from Ingrid Bergman out wider, which I thought applied to writing and publishing spot on the money. And from a direction most writers don’t come from. Basically, what I…
