Talked with Donny Osmond for a Short Moment… About 22 or more years ago, he and I started to write a novel together. It was set up by Tekno Books and was to be a thriller. I spent a couple days on it, writing about 15,000 words and an outline, I don’t think Donny spent more than thirty minutes on it, twice talking with me on the phone. Got To Get Up Early
To Go Run in a 5K Charity Run… Kris and I have to go out of the house at 7 a.m. at the latest. So I’m not staying up late tonight, that’s for sure. (grin) So two running pictures one year apart. Last Year at the Vegas Strong Run… I was down 45 pounds from heaviest, but still a long ways to go. Second picture this year, down 82 pounds from my heaviest. A Good Run
Vegas Strong 5K… Basically three miles. Started on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas, went for about a mile on Las Vegas Blvd toward the Strip, then headed out into the neighborhoods, ending up back on Fremont Street. About 2,500 people ran or walked for a great cause. This was to honor and help all those killed and injured in the mass shooting on October 1st two years ago. This city is amazing in how it has dealt with that. It started at 8 am, so we left our condo at 7:30 and walked to the race. Very early. For me, this was the first timed run of the fall…

Losing Weight
Might Be The Hardest Challenge I Have Ever Done… Now, granted, I am being successful at it. Frighteningly slowly and certainly not in a straight down line. But it dawned on me this week that this might be simply the hardest challenge I have ever taken on, and I’ve tackled some big challenges over the years. For three years now I have aimed at a marathon here in Las Vegas. For a year before I moved and also last year. Running On Hot Pavement…
Yeah, That’s a Good Idea… But for a good cause and we raised some money for it, so we did it. The course was around and through a mall and its parking lot. The race started late and it was over eighty degrees and bright sun when we finally started. I ran most of the first mile, then settled into a plan. I would run in the sun, walk the shade. So I ended up around 40 minutes or so. I think. Pretty good pace and I didn’t push myself at all. So fun. And here are some pictures of me and Kris. And yes, Gavin, our cat really is…

Slightly late posting on this one…
Wanted to See If Pictures Appeared… From the run yesterday on the run web site, but they are not up yet, so only picture I got is one Kris took as I came across the finish line. Yes, Kris was that far ahead of me that she could finish, get out her camera, and get set to take pictures of me finishing. Actually my time wasn’t that bad. I had been walking/running regularly for the first two plus miles, staying ahead of Kris and then she would pass me while I was walking. Ran in a Five K Fun Run This Morning… Actually I am still in run/walk mode, but managed to run about 2 of the 3 miles total. In another month I’ll be running the entire distance. Fun New Year’s Eve
Hope Everyone Kicked 2018 To The Curb With Fun… Kris and I sure did. We started off the day working, then a quick lunch, then more work. Then by 3 p.m. we were standing in a very windy, very cold park getting ready to run a “fun” 5k run to end the year. Wind died as we got started, so it turned out to be fun after all. Fun Day Started Early
Another Run… This 5k fun run was along a paved trail along a canyon in Henderson, NV (a part of larger Las Vegas valley.) Started at 9 am and I actually managed to run fairly comfortably over half it. I decided to not push yet, since I am still recovering from the fall in some ways, but it was a comfortable run walk. Another Fun Run
The Great Las Vegas Santa Run… This time not only was the run for a great charity, but they were trying to set the world record for the most runners in Santa suits. Kris talked me into doing it and honestly it was amazing fun. They furnished the Santa suits, which I wore the jacket and hat. Kris did the same. Over 10,000 Santa runners. At one point after the start they stretched for far over a half mile down the middle of Las Vegas Blvd. I am pretty sure they sat the record.
