Thanksgiving Holidays
We All Have Our Stories and Traditions… I had no tradition for this holiday growing up. None. My family was so unpleasant at its very core, a holiday forcing all of them into one place was my definition of a nightmare. Lots of Learning
Amazing Week of Conversations and Learning.. Pretty exhausted after four days of getting up very early. But wow was it worth it. Major areas I have learned stuff about… Kickstarter… I will be sharing a bunch of this over time as we test some of it out, and also sometime this winter I will be updating the free Kickstarter class with a bunch of new suggestions. I will alert you here and over that class when we get it done. AI in Publishing. So, so many ways AI change indie publishing and our lives over the next five years. Art, audio, and text. A Magical Evening
GLITTERING LIGHTS AT THE SPEEDWAY… Every year since we moved to Vegas, Kris and I go out and do a 5K (run… mostly walk) for charity. They want everyone dressed in their PJs, and kids and dogs are welcome. Seeing entire families dressed in matching pajamas and having fun is wonderful to watch. This year I am guessing over three thousand people showed up. What makes this so special is that sponsors from all over the city decorate under the grandstands, around the back of the track and back up, about 2 miles of nothing but Christmas lights. SORT OF TOOK A DAY OFF…
Sort of… Did a lot of email this morning, drove to the other side of town and got steps in the Orleans Casino trying to find where to pick up packets for this weekend’s charity run. Wait until you see the pictures Kris takes. This is the lights run through a forest of holiday lights. Every year it sets off our season. Got home right about the time Kris did from the University, and we haded off to the Wynn Buffet for one of the most amazing dinners I have had in a long time. Typing Large
Eyes Dilated… Seems my eyes take a little longer than the normal 4-6 hours to fully return to normal. So right now after my eye-doctor appointment very late this afternoon, this bright office is still a little uncomfortable. So I did the assignments I needed to do for the workshops and am now typing this because of my stupid streak of over ten years of not missing a blog here. Damn streaks are powerful. News Flash!!! Editor Caught Kicking Writer off Titanic!!
David H. Hendrickson Still Selling Stories to Pulphouse... Dave and his wonderful wife, Brenda, are in town for a few days and the three of us caught the Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor again. Second time for them, third or fourth for me. Place is just stunning and worth your time, especially if you understand the massive ramifications in business and society of that ship going down. There is a full-sized replica of the grand staircase and also a full-scale replica of a section of the Promenade Deck that night, plus a third class cabin and a first class cabin. A Bunch of Pictures
From Today’s Two Charity Runs… Up stupidly early for a cancer charity run that Donny Osmond backs and was there. Kris just kicked my ass, but I still finished four minutes faster than my time at the Vegas Strong run two weeks ago. It felt slower, but I was faster and got 4th in my age category. But Kris got 3rd in her age group. Not at all sure what got into her, but I stayed with her and ahead of her for the first two miles, then she just left me in the dust.
