Coming Up With New Stretch Awards
Not An Easy Task… The Spade/Paladin Kickstarter Campaign is about $2,000 away from the top stretch goal we have listed, which includes a Pop-Up class called Automatic Depth. So Kris and I have been working to come up with one or two more stretch goals since there is still nine days left on the campaign. Now not complaining at all. The fact that we are needing to do this is very, very cool. So we will be listing some more books for readers and Pop-Up classes for writers in brand new stretch rewards on Wednesday or Thursday. So if you have any ideas of a Pop-Up you would really love…

The Rule of Three
Most Writers Don’t Understand It or Use It… Today, at lunch, Kris and I were talking about a ton of ideas we have for Pop-Up classes we wanted to do for the Spade/Paladin Kickstarter we will launch next week. We like giving writers Pop-Up classes in the stretch goals if the campaign hits a certain amount. And we liked them to sort of match the genre of the campaign, which this time is mystery. We decided and laid out some really good Pop-Ups. For example, a Pop-Up titled HOW TO GET AUTOMATIC DEPTH. Yes, there are ways to do that. Honest. And they are fun and it is perfect size…

Last Kickstarter Workshops Housekeeping Post…
All Regular Rewards Are Out… Yesterday I sent out all the codes and information for the Special Workshops and regular workshops that were sold in the Pulphouse Fiction Magazine Kickstarter. And last week a new issue of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine went out to all old and new subscribers. All paper books are sent out and drifting in the mail, so they will be arriving as the mail allows. Tomorrow, all supporters will get the codes to the five Pop-Up writing classes that were in the stretch rewards. So watch for those tomorrow. And then finally, by the end of September, all six of the Pulphouse collections that were stretch rewards…

Kickstarter Awards Starting Out
Please Give Us A Little Time, But… Some awards have already been going out. For example, Pulphouse Fiction Magazine #13 published last week and went out. And today and tonight I wrote everyone who signed up for one or both of the special workshops. If you did not get a letter from me, please check your spam filter. And remember, we sent the letter to the email you put on your kickstarter unless you told us otherwise. So check that as well. Then if you still can’t find the letter I sent you, write me. If you did get the letter on the special workshops, make your choices and get…

Study Along Online Classes…
They Go with the In-Person Classes… Study Along workshops are held at exactly the same time, with the same reading list. as the in-person classes here in Vegas. The In-Person workshops start in March and we have another every two months until January 2023. These are hardcore craft workshops. We are holding the in-person Vegas classes to 15 writers and everyone must be vaccinated, so we are very certain they will take place. So at the same time as each workshop here in Vegas, there is a study-along class by the same name that is online on Teachable. It will be held from Monday through Thursday with the same story…

Summer Setback Sale
We Had No Plans To Do This… But yet here we are. Back at the beginning of June, when we started what we called THE LAST SALE, we really thought it would be. Even though there was a long ways to go with the pandemic, the US had opened back up, and the vaccines were working like gold. All we had to do was just keep up the vaccination pace and the US would be out of this and then, as we tend to do, we could help the rest of the world. But over the next months, Kris and I and half the rest of the population, looked on…

Pulphouse Kickstarter Workshops
Great for Writers… And Readers… This Pulphouse Kickstarter campaign is turning out to be great for both writers and readers. For writers, there are two special three week workshops that you can only get through this campaign, and in 60 hours or so, we will never offer those workshops again. They are HOW TO WRITE A PULPHOUSE STORY and HOW TO MONETIZE SHORT FICTION. They are $150 each and you will have a story assignment for the last assignment in each. Or you can get both for $250. You can take them starting September 7th or October 5th. Your choice. You also get a year’s Pulphouse Fiction Magazine subscription with…

Three Updates…
Three Important Projects Going… I almost need the cats from Kris’s promotion central on Facebook to help with this, but sadly at this time of the night they are all asleep. — First Project, last night I talked about the six new and really fun In-Person and Study Along workshops Kris and I are going to do starting in March 2022 and going until January 2023. And that we also cancelled the Anthology workshop because of Covid. All the details are in the last post. And the six workshops all have lots of spots left as well as the Study Along workshops for all six. In interested in the In-Person…

NEW IN-PERSON VEGAS WORKSHOPS
Starting March 2022… First, before I tell you about the new Vegas writing workshops, I have to announce that the Anthology Workshop is officially cancelled. I have sent letters to everyone who is signed up, so if you did not get the letter and thought you were signed up, just write me directly. We just could not risk putting over 40 writers in the same room for four days, plus in a party room at night in this environment. But 15 vaccinated writers in a meeting room with great ventilation at a later time is another matter. So Kris and I came up with some really, really fun four day…
