Day Two: Still Flying
A Second Really Fun Day… I worked in the stores (treasure hunting in my own store), did a bunch of work on workshops moving to Teachable, and got my 10,000 steps done, plus a short story. Can’t beat that. Details below. First, I wanted to remind you about the special workshop offer we have going on for the next four days. It ends on the 16th. Here are the basic details of the offer…. For exactly one week, until November 16th, you can get two regular workshops and two classic workshops for the price of $500. That is exactly the same as it was offered in the Kickstarter. A fun…

Starting Challenge Tomorrow
I Am Excited… It has been a while since I have been this excited about a challenge. And focused on it, which I will need to be over an entire year. Writing/publishing my age. 67 books. This just may be one of the crazier things I have ever tried. I figured out that to do this I will need to write just about 1.2 million words of new and original fiction. Over Pulp Speed Two, basically, for the entire year. For those of you with math issues, that is over 3,250 words per day without missing a day, 365 days a year. Well, I will miss, but luckily I will…

Holiday Offer for Workshops
Trying Something Fun This Year… Last year, after the Fiction River Kickstarter, we offered a discounted workshops offer for a week for those who missed the Kickstarter offer. This year we are doing that as a form of gift certificate. For exactly one week, until November 16th, you can get two regular workshops and two classic workshops for the price of $500. That is exactly the same as it was offered in the Kickstarter. A fun thing this year… If you would like, you can have us print up a nice-looking gift certificate and put it into a nice envelope, with someone’s name on the certificate, and send it to…

Think Like a Publisher is a Workshop
New Online Workshop Starting in December… That’s right, a new one starting now with Novel Structure and a new business workshop called Think Like a Publisher starting in December. Some of you here remember the blog posts turned into a book called “Think Like a Publisher 2012.” I kept working to update it but could never contain the information into a book that seemed to work. So Kris and I started planning that once this new indie world settled a little, we would do the Think Like a Publisher as a workshop to get in all the information. After the last major business class here on the coast, we’re ready…

FLASHED PAST THE FOURTH STRETCH GOAL
Amazing. And Wonderful!… For anyone supporting the Kickstarter, you now get Issue Zero of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine, an extra issue on whatever subscription you signed up for, and three different books over the next 18 months. How cool is that? Only three days left to jump in. I had some good questions about the workshop credits being offered through the Pulphouse Fiction Magazine Kickstarter. Question One: How Can I Get More than Just the One or Three Workshops? You can get as many workshops as you want in increments of $250. If you want one, there is a reward for that. If you want two, just add $250 to the…

Classic Workshop Kickstarter Offer
Two Workshops For the Price of One… A week or so back I mentioned that if you support the Pulphouse Fiction Magazine Kickstarter by buying an online workshop credit. ($300 value for $250 through the Kickstarter), you will get for each workshop credit, a Classic Workshop Credit as well. (A $150 value.) Plus you get a subscription to the magazine as well. Well, ONLY FOUR DAYS LEFT to get this offer. That’s right, the Kickstarter only has four days left. So don’t miss out on this one. And remember, you can get as many credits as you like. Even though the one reward says three workshops, just add to your…

Third Stretch Goal for Pulphouse Fiction Magazine
We Made It!!!… The third stretch goal which means that everyone supporting the Pulphouse Fiction Magazine Kickstarter will get a book called NO WAY: Totally Twisted Tales: Stories from Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. You can see the cover on the main page of the Kickstarter page. This third stretch goal we called the Cartwheel because making it would make us happy enough to want to do a cartwheel. But alas, all of the crew is far too old, so we had Stomper do it for us. Here is the video: Thanks, everyone for the support. It means a great deal. And remember, if you get a workshop or workshops through the…

Anthology Workshop Surprise
I Was Surprised to Say the Least… Tonight I was doing a quick check of the upcoming coast workshops. We have the Master Business class here in a couple weeks, then the next up is the Anthology Workshop. That actually is the 24th of February to March 3rd. But the group list for the Anthology workshop will start in a week and the actual workshop starts at the end of November when the first writing assignments are sent out. Just over a month away. I had not looked at how many were signed up in a long time. My focus was elsewhere, to be honest, but tonight I discovered there…
