Study Along Workshop
Science Fiction Craft Workshop Starting Up… And online, on Teachable, the Science Fiction Craft Workshop Study Along is starting as well. First stories are due on Friday evening. A ton of videos, more story assignments, a bunch of videos about sf books over the five days. Basically, the study along patterns what Kris is teaching here in Las Vegas. Of course, since it takes a couple months to read for the study along workshops, the science fiction one is well closed. And going to be a blast. I don’t have much to do, but I still have fun seeing people. Kris and the writers, however, are jamming. (grin) However, there…

I’m Still Up
Even Gavin Is Getting Annoyed At Me… Just finishing up the last of the stories that came in for the anthology workshop coming in February. Now writers are reading. A lot of reading. Next year has a few people signed up for the 2021 Anthology workshop. Everyone thinks there is a lot of time. But the group list for that will start in about six months and the writing starts in November of this year. So write me if interested. So I knew this night would be long. Turned out I was right. But I kept up my 10,000 steps a day streak on the exercising and slowly getting back…

Lifetime Workshops
And Other Nifty Things Such as Mentoring… I wanted to do a post here to let everyone know what was possible in the mass of workshops and lectures we have on Teachable. Lifetime Workshop Subscription… As more and more workshops and classic workshops and special workshops came on board over the last few years, we offered this. It has enormous advantages since you can do workshops at your own pace, are automatically signed up for new workshops, and can go through workshops that have been retired, yet still have value. This has over $17,000 in workshop value and the price is $3,000. Lifetime Lecture Subscription This is a subscription to…

October Workshops Starting
Plus the How to Write a Pulphouse Story October… If you signed up for that workshop through the Kickstarter and want to take it in October, write me at once. If you have workshop credit from the Kickstarter, you can use it against these October workshops if you want. We will have everything out later in the week as surveys get back in. The Regular October workshops are starting and for a few of these, this will be the last time they are regular workshops with homework. They are headed to classic status. However, if you are a lifetime subscriber, you can still send in the assignments on those. But…

Romance Workshop Going On Here Now
And I Am Recording Kris’s Lectures for the Study Along… I realized tonight how really good these Study Along workshops are. Kris does a ton of videos about books on her reading list, then assigns stories, and I record her lectures from my point of view on a topic. And if you are taking the Study Along, you can turn in a story by the deadline and I will read it. First assignment of the Romance Workshop Study Along I ended up with 12 stories I will be reading over the next day or so. And just tonight I gave out story assignment #2. And the best deal is the…

Business Structure Pop-Up
We Planned on Doing This… But just moved it up after the reaction to my post. This is about the structure of a writing business. It is not legal or accounting advise, but an awareness of what is possible with a writing business. Basically I tell you how Kris and I are doing many business things, or have done a lot of business methods in the past and why. Again, not legal advice, but I do talk a great deal about corporations and why to use them and how to license to them and take money out of them. So Pop-Up #16: Business Structure is available now on Teachable. It…

Science Fiction Study Along Craft Workshop
A Reminder… I will be starting up the email group tomorrow for those attending the Science Fiction Craft Workshop here in Las Vegas in January. The workshop is taught by Hugo Award winning editor and writer, Kristine Kathryn Rusch. But if you can’t make it to Las Vegas, the best way to take the class is on Teachable with the Science Fiction Study Along Craft Workshop. The workshop is January 24th – 28th, but the reason this is starting up so early is that there is a reading list and Kris wants everyone to have enough time to read everything she assigns. Both those coming to Las Vegas and those…
