    Talked to Southwest Writers Tonight

Zoom Call With a Bunch of Writers… Fun group of between 50 and 70 at any given time and enjoyable to talk with. I talked about Writing into the Dark, similar to what I did on the big speech a few years back at the 20to50 Conference. Fun because it breaks down so many myths for writers.  Forgot to mention that there is a book and a class by the same name. I really suck at self promotion. (grin) But it was a fun hour-plus. I got a great email comment and question this afternoon about Smith’s Monthly. Since I have started it back up, the question was if I…

    THE 2021 WRITE STUFF STORYBUNDLE…

It Just Went Live…. The following is Kris’s blog that is on Storybundle.com. I read earlier about each book and got done and went “Wow, I want this!” So check out each book in the bundle and for $15 plus a little donation to a great charity, you will want it as well. Here is the blog that Kris wrote for this, copied her in whole cloth. The 2021 Write Stuff Bundle  Curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch When it comes to the publishing business, most writers believe that the only way to make money is to do what the big publishers do. Writers put their books in bookstores and pay…

    Regular and Classic Workshops

These Are All Available in the Sale Since yesterday I talked a little about the really fun collections classes, today I thought I would list the regular workshops that are starting in May and June that are available to sign up for in the sale. Both months of classes include the brand new six-week workshop STAGES OF A PUBLISHER. (It is in the Lifetime Subscription for those who have or buy that.) NOTE: The next regular workshop to be launched is called: Fear Based Decision Making. You can not believe how many bad decisions writers make because of fear. Going to be a very important workshop as Kris and I…

    An Obvious Topic…

So Obvious I Never Think to Talk About It… Back up your work. That’s the topic and I have told the story many times of how I wrote a short story per week from January 1st 1982 onward and sold some of those. But I have no copies of any of them except the ones that were published, or in the mail at the time, because in May of 1985 my house burnt down, and since I was working on a typewriter, I lost most of those stories and the two novels I had written. Seeing two novels you wrote as nothing but piles of flaked ash is not something…

    New Workshop Sale!!!

The Half-Price Code is… IN-BETWEEN Yes, It Has Been Two More Months of Covid… As I said months ago, I honestly never would have predicted this last spring. Not in a million years. Not many did, and those who did warn us of this, none of us listened. We just couldn’t imagine being locked up for MORE THAN a year. But at least now we have some hope on the horizon with the vaccines going out and so many of us getting them. But we are a long ways out of this, with 600 to 700 dying still every day in just this country. Back when WMG Publishing did what…

    70 Publishing Challenge

Half Way There… I turned 70 back in the middle of November of 2020 and set up a challenge for myself. Actually a number of challenges. One was to complete a marathon and I did that in late November. I plan on one or two more marathons this coming fall. But I also sat up a publishing challenge for myself. I wanted to publish 70 major books (not counting individual short stories) with my name on the front cover. I did an update back in January when I said I was way behind. Well, I am now caught up. Granted, I only have twenty books published in five months, but…
