I Will Be So Happy….
To Not Have To Talk Here About Workshop Sales… At least until next April. (If then.) I got so many other things I would rather talk about here. Like the stories I am reading and other learning stuff. QUESTION… What’s In It??
Got That Question Three Times… About what was in the Everything Lifetime Subscription. Seems my answer of “Everything on WMG Teachable” was not enough of an answer. So for kicks and giggles here on this Friday night, I thought I would answer the question a little better so you can see why I say it is the best deal to really learn writing and publishing. Great Writer and Person… I met Steven Mohan Jr. over twenty years ago when he came to one of our master classes. He was a former officer in the Navy and was hungry to learn writing. And learn he did, selling stories regularly from that point forward. He ended up writing a lot of military science fiction under his name and another, including novels for Battle Tech. And he just kept on learning, working to be better. He attended a lot of our in-person classes over the years. A Number of Things… Kris told me tonight that she had sent out the first assignments to her Kris Reading Program where she gives assignments to a few writers and they have two weeks to write her a story. Then she gives them feedback and a new assignment. She really limited the participants to start, but tonight she said that she thinks she is really going to enjoy doing it and wouldn’t mind one or two more writers to jump in. Figuring Out What I Missed… When you write a series of nonfiction posts on something, with no outline or path you are intending to go, unlike fiction, it can get really jumbled. And then do the posts over almost ten months of crazy busy stuff, it gets stupidly disorganized. Yeah, I did that. I Dropped Off My Ballot Today… I was born in the Truman administration , vaguely remember the Nixon/Kennedy election, remember clearly Kennedy getting shot, remember being angry Nixon was elected in 1968 and I gave up being active when he was reelected in 1972. Kris got me paying attention again to politics in the late 1980s and ever since then I have been active.
