A Fun First Day of September

First Day of September Well, we were stunned yet again today when the new Kickstarter Fiction River subscription drive went zooming past its first stretch goal. In just two days. Thank you, everyone, for supporting our wonderful project. It means a lot to us. And now everyone who gets a subscription through Kickstarter will get a free extra volume as our way of saying thanks. Even those supporters getting a subscription when you sign up for a workshop. And speaking of workshops, since we are having a number sign up for the three workshop package, before the Kickstarter is over, Kris and I will set the online workshop schedule for Jan, February,…

Day Spent On Fun Stuff… New Kris Novel

New Kris Novel Well, today I had great fun. We finally launched the new Kickstarter Fiction River subscription drive. And I got my 10,000 steps in just fine. Cooked dinner, took a nap, and did the workshop assignments for the week. Then after a break to watch a little television, I got the wonderful pleasure of reading a brand new Kris novel. Now Kris has a fantastic Diving Universe novel coming out this fall called, if I remember right, The Falls. But the one I just read is from Boss’s viewpoint and Boss is diving the Boneyard. Oh, my… It’s wonderful. Flat wonderful. Sorry to tease all of her Diving fans with…

    The Day Filled Up

The Day Filled Up This day just was silly crazy. Not only was it a Monday, so I had a ton of running around to do, but also some meetings and workshop assignments tonight. And the fun project that will start very quickly. I’ll announce it here when it does in the next day or so. But let me say this: I got it all done just a few short minutes ago at 5:30 a.m.  Worked from a little after 1 in the afternoon until now. Yeah, a long day. I mentioned this last night but wanted to push it again tonight. I have a book in a really nifty bundle…

    Fun Stuff Happening This Week

Fun Stuff Happening This Coming Week Kris finished reading Star Fall: A Seeders Universe Novel and she liked it.  She didn’t have many corrections at all, so took me about an hour tonight to run through it and put in her corrections that I agreed with, then got it off to WMG. As I said earlier, the book will be in a bundle in the middle of September. And speaking of bundles, I have a book in a really nifty bundle right now. It’s called “Out of This World Bundle” and it has 16 sf and fantasy novels in it, including one by me and one by Kris and a fantastic…

    Finished Novel Challenge

Finished The Novel Challenge Took ten days, but all done. Right at 40,000 words finished, around 44,000 words written. Kris has already read the first 32,000 words and likes it, so she will finish it tomorrow, I will run over any corrections she finds, and have it in to WMG before Monday morning. It will have a quick copyedit and then get launched for the bundle starting on September 15th. So all good. Today I got my 10,000 steps in, cooked dinner, had a nap, worked on workshop stuff at WMG for about three hours, and wrote about 3,200 words in just over three hours of writing. Fun day. —— Day…

Day Nine of a Seven Day Novel Challenge

Day Nine of a Seven Day Novel Challenge Nope, still didn’t make it. But I honestly wasn’t pushing very hard once again today. As I said, if I get it done Saturday it would make no difference since it has to go to WMG on Monday no matter what. It will be done tomorrow. So once again today I decided to not stress about it. Did my 10,000 plus steps (five miles), took a long nap, cooked dinner, did some e-mail, then managed with some television scattered along the way to actually get 3,700 words in three hour-long sessions and a half hour session. Also, I spent about two hours cycling back in…

Day Eight of a Seven Day Novel Challege

Day Eight of a Seven Day Novel Challenge Nope, still didn’t make it. But I honestly wasn’t pushing very hard today. Sort of had the pressure of the challenge gone. Also, if I got it done tonight or tomorrow or Saturday it would make no difference since it has to go to WMG on Monday no matter what. So I decided to not stress about it. Did my 10,000 plus steps (five miles), took a long nap, cooked dinner, did some e-mail, then managed with some television scattered along the way to actually get 4,300 words in three hour-long sessions and a half hour session. Good enough and easy. Now going…

    Day Seven: Novel Challenge

Day Seven: Novel Challenge Nope, didn’t make it. This challenge this time just had too many things going against it to finish a book in seven days. But more than likely I’ll have it done in eight or nine. (Yeah, that’s rough I know… (grin)). So here is what happened with this challenge. I didn’t get out ahead of the word count in the early days as I did last time. Just too many things got in the way. Second, I didn’t plan the timing of this challenge very well. Monday nights and Tuesday nights I have hours worth of workshop responses to do. I actually enjoy doing them but…

    Day Six: Novel Challenge

Day Six: Novel Challenge Looking more and more likely this novel challenge will be eight days instead of seven. Again today just not enough time in the day and not enough power in these old eyes to deal with too many computer hours. But as I said to the writers I was walking with this afternoon, isn’t it a weird perspective when a 4,200 word day was a failure? (grin) So anyhow, today I did a ton of running around after getting out of here around 2:30 and managed to get to some exercise with the guys around 4 p.m. Made my 10,000 steps easily today. Then did some grocery…
