Day Spent On Fun Stuff… New Kris Novel
New Kris Novel
Well, today I had great fun. We finally launched the new Kickstarter Fiction River subscription drive. And I got my 10,000 steps in just fine. Cooked dinner, took a nap, and did the workshop assignments for the week.
Then after a break to watch a little television, I got the wonderful pleasure of reading a brand new Kris novel.
Now Kris has a fantastic Diving Universe novel coming out this fall called, if I remember right, The Falls. But the one I just read is from Boss’s viewpoint and Boss is diving the Boneyard. Oh, my It’s wonderful. Flat wonderful.
Sorry to tease all of her Diving fans with that, but those of you who have not read any of Kris’s award-winning Diving novellas and novels, get to it. Trust me, you will be very happy you did when this book comes out. Start with Diving into the Wreck and go from there. Maybe one of the best sf series ever done.
Writing Workshops and Books in Kickstarter
New Kickstarter Fiction River subscription campaign has a number of writing related awards. Six writing books by me and Kris, either paper or electronic at a discount. Plus a discount on a lecture, a discount on a six-week workshop, and a discount on 3 different six-week workshops.
Plus, one reward where I will take you, your friends, a made-up character, anything you want within reason and put it in a short story for Fiction River. Not just once, but three different characters in three different stories. That will be fun and a challenge for me.
One Week
I know, I know, the summer is almost over. And the September workshops start in one week. Stunning but true. And there is still room in all of them including the new Speed workshop.
If you haven’t taken a workshop from us before, start with Depth. Maybe the most important workshop we have done for your writing.
Topic of the Night: Reading So No Topic
Sorry, Kris’s wonderful new novel won tonight.

Ooh, Kris’ book sounds good! And congrats on the kickstarter; it looks like you just might, maybe, hit your goal! 🙂 That was a fun video, too, it gave me some great smiles!

Dean, I was unemployed on the last Kickstart, but I’m in on this one! Great video, you and Kris are a perfect couple.
And what do you mean you can’t do cartwheels? You jumped off snow covered mountains on skis, for cryin’ out loud! (grin)

Wow, that was fast. Already funded! This is two very successful kickstarters I’ve seen this summer.

Just passing along something I saw this morning that floored me. It came over Facebook by a writer and was a workshop by a publishing house editor. She said that books became best sellers because of the editors. Kind of speaks loudly about what the publishing industry thinks of writers.
