Kickstarter Friday
Some Campaigns I Think Are Worth Backing Or Studying Or Both!
I do this every Friday when I have a few campaigns I think are worth putting here. Wow is this a slow time for campaigns.
I will not say much negative about a campaign. If there is too much or it is going to fail, I won’t post it here. Also, I am not posting campaigns that are only for very pretty books. They are not good examples to study and unless you are a collector of the genre or author, not worth backing.
And for those wondering where I get off judging Kickstarter campaigns by fiction writers, I have now done 60 of them, every one funded and made money. My first campaign was in the very early days of Kickstarter. But if yoy are going to study campaigns that I have done, study the last year or so. I am continuing to learn.
I will also not post any campaign that uses AI for anything. Why should I promote garbage done by lazy people?
NEW THIS WEEK..
Luminous Rise: Exclusive Special Edition Fantasy Hardback by Sara Knightly
A brand-new standalone fantasy set in the greek isles and filled with elemental magic, cozy sun lore, myths, and a slow burn romance.
Sara is a good writer and she seems to be working at her peak with these romantasy books. And this campaign is just about perfectly done, with great art and clear rewards. It got a “Project We Love” designation and is being pushed by Kickstarter, but Sara doesn’t seem to know how to put the badge on her header.
This one is worth studying, folks, and if you like romantasy, back it.

Scales & Sequins: A Limited Edition Cozy Romantasy by Silver Scale Books
A dazzling mermaid. A reclusive silkie. And the enchanted boutique where she discovers that true beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Okay, this campaign is so, so, so much overkill in rewards and extra stuff, I have no idea how the author is keeping track of it all. Wow, this has to need a ton of spreadsheets to track anything. Take a look and see what I mean.
She put in everything except an AI statement that I could find. So caution.
And the best that I can figure, this is for a novella that is part of a series, and has some sex, but not a lot, which feels odd because a bunch of her art is children, but she is clear the sex is between the two very, very young people in the drawings.
Again worth looking at for just a ton of ideas on extra stuff and how she is doing electronic signatures and weird stuff like that. But the campaign looks good, if you want to read a campaign that might be longer than the book. Not kidding.
