Might Work As A Title… I think I will call this series “Advice from a Fiction Editor.” I have about ten more stories to read that are from workshops as assignments, then I will change out hats and read as the Pulphouse Fiction Magazine editor. Pulphouse is not open for submissions and never will be, so what am I reading? Buying Stories Can Really Slow An Editor Down… Here is what happens when I find a story I want to buy. First off, the writer makes me read all the way to the end and I like the story and it fits Pulphouse. Great! Always fun and exciting for me. But then I can’t just go back to reading. Why? Because I would be comparing the new story to the great last one I just read, and that would not be fair to the next writer in line. Reading Stories
Not Doing Much Writing Yet… Typical slow start to my year. Only years I didn’t have a slow start were years I ramped up for two weeks in December. No idea why. Always seems logical at the time. But I am getting a lot of reading of Pulphouse stories done. I want to have them all done before this HEARTS COLLIDE Kickstarter finishes because I hope we hit a few stretch goals and I have more stories to read for Pulphouse.
