First 5K In the Books…
Scary Slow But I Finished…
And no, I did not run. I honestly didn’t even walk fast. I just walked.
Felt strange in a couple of places. I usually start up at the beginning of the pack, but this time I waited until most had started and then took off.
Secondly, I was far, far from last in the 5K. I figured I would be.
Had a great lunch with Kris, then we hung our medals and then I took an afternoon-long nap since I am now sleeping again on the bed after almost seven weeks of trying to sleep sitting up.
So back to doing full 5K distances. Going to build over the next three months to half marathon. We shall see how that goes. Here are some fun pictures of the entire process.
First… Safety Pins take two hands…
Kris wears the ball to the front… Go figure…
Bundled against the arctic 50 degrees and sunny weather.
Kris finally got the ball turned around and she did great.
A picture proving I finished. Notice the crowds trying to run me down?
Kris getting ready to hang her two medals for the day.
I run, I mean walk for the bling…

You did it.
That is all that matters.
Life is full of these outwardly small but inwardly big victories.
