    Fun Stuff…

Mostly Getting Caught Up On Sleep… I really, really, really screwed around my sleep schedule right when I knew there were five days in a row I had to be up before noon. So a lot of long naps to just pretend to get eight hours in a day. Man that makes a person feel like crap and no one to blame but my inability to go to bed before 5 am. But as last night’s post said, I did manage to start all of the new September Regular workshops, which includes the classic Heinlein’s Rules and two brand new workshops, Brushstroke Characters and Faking It. Both of those should…

Two Deadlines and Two New Regular Workshops…

Yup, Adding Two Regular Six Weeks Workshops… But first, the two deadlines. The Kris Fall Writing Challenge will close on Monday the 19th. Kris sends out an email about her writing day and running day and total word count every day from August 15th to September 30. If you sign up and don’t match her word count, you get your $300 in credit on WMG Teachable. If you surpass her word count, you get twice what you paid in credit. So win/win. Right now, the letters are both being sent out and put in a post for those signing up this weekend to not miss anything. As of Monday sign-ups…

Last Day of the Anthology Workshop…

Bummed the Next One Is Two Full Years Away… This was so much fun, as much as I remember them being. And we got six new Fiction River volumes out of it, plus I bought eight stories for Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. Over 2025 we will be rebranding all of the Fiction River volumes, plus publishing these new six, so that will be exciting. Wow were there a lot of great stories. Now I need sleep, a full night’s sleep if possible.

    Day One of Anthology Workshop…

Really Fun! And I even managed to buy two stories for Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. I actually wanted to buy five, but the editors of the anthologies had first choice and they wanted the stories for their Fiction River anthologies. But I am happy to get two great stories. And ended up in some great conversations on writing and kickstarters. So much fun. So I have some work to do before I go try to get some sleep and fire into day two. Night…

    Reading Manuscripts…

Getting Ready for the Anthology Workshop Next Week… I really love reading all the stories, especially since I am reading them as the editor of Pulphouse. All the stories were written for FictionRiver anthologies, but I am reading them as well in hopes the editor of the anthology doesn’t like a story I like. Great fun!! And for those who backed the Pulphouse Kickstarter, the August guidelines for the story have been sent out. If you missed it, check your spam filter and if not there and you are a backer, go to the Kickstarter, the August rules are there. Looking forward to reading those stories in September. And remember,…

    Long Day Ends Well!!

I Love It When That Happens… Kris and I had a very long Monday for business reasons too stupid to ever talk about. So by the time dinner came around, I was ready for the planned pizza at Good Pie in the Arts District here in Vegas. We met an old friend from the old science fiction convention days, Steven Silver, who was visiting in town and the conversations were great. And fun. And of course the pizza was fantastic.   TWO GREAT NEW IN-PERSON CRAFT CLASSES… Both taught by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. New In-Person Classes

TWO GREAT NEW IN-PERSON CRAFT CLASSES… Both taught by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. I wanted to repost this to make sure everyone saw it with the Anthology Workshop in one week. The fact that we announced the next Anthology Workshop in August of 2026, we got a bunch of questions about the next in-person craft workshops taught by Kris. So Kris and I felt it was time to announce those as well so people can make travel plans and such. We already have one scheduled in January for Space Opera, taught by Kris and held at the Resorts World here in Las Vegas. That has one spot remaining. (Write me for…
