Update on 75 Books Challenge!

Still In The Fight!!!

The challenge was to publish 75 major books in my 75th year on the planet. From November 10th, 2025 to November 10th, 2026. As I have said before, the first six months was mostly still cleaning up the WMG business stuff, and more than that, getting an organization system on 40 plus years of short fiction.

My secondary goal is to get all my short fiction into ten-story collections, roughly by genre. No repeats of any story. About 520 stories, 52 collections. That will be a good base in the 75 books challenge.

So along the way I did five DETECTIVES COLLIDE collections with Kris, and then two other combination of Collides volumes with Kris for Storybundle campaigns. And I did eight books in my writing series, plus one for a Storybundle. And I did two exclusive collections for other Storybundles, the most recent will be in the bundle at the end of the month, a collection of my funny stories. (Not part of my 52 series of collections.)

So I have 43 of the 75 books done with exactly from today two months to go. 61 days.

32 books left, or about 16 per month.

I have about 27 collections left to finish, and I have a good system for those. I do the table of contents from my spreadsheet, do the cover for the title story, then find the stories in my files (the hardest part), do the introduction and sales copy, get the stories into one master file, then run the master file through Vellum and then post it to Bookfunnel.

So I think I can get those 27 done in two months. But still short five books, so will be figuring that out along the way. I know one of them will be a Mary Jane Assassin collection, so that leaves four books short. And fingers crossed no major life even gets in the way on this downhill slide to the end.

The 15 sf collections will be going out to the Kickstarter backers in a week or so and finally the Mary Jane collection will be headed out as well.

Here is the image of the 43 covers done so far.
