Thinking of the Start of the New Year…
New Year Is Not Far Off..
Today I got up late (since I stay up until 5 am), watched far too much college football including that crazy ending to the Arizona/BYU game, then headed out to the store(s) to get all the stuff Kris needs to make her fantastic pumpkin pies and a turkey and all the extra stuff as well.
Actually fun. And then watched more television and didn’t get into my office until after midnight. And most of the time since getting in here I have been working on and thinking about the start of the new year and what I am going to do to really ramp up my writing between now and then.
Most people who know me know I love the first of the year as a major reset point. So as the next few weeks go by, I will be talking here about resetting for myself, challenges for myself, and other things to ramp up my writing even more.
So late now. A lot more on this topic coming up and maybe some of it will help you reset for the start of the year as well.
Workshop Deals!!
Yes, you can buy one workshop at full price and gift yourself the second free one. No problem at all.
For this next week or so, we are going to try something since we will not have another workshop sale until April.
Solo Half Price Coupons
If you have a workshop or a class or a subscription you would like to get, but need it to be half price to afford it, just write me directly at my email address and tell me which class and I will send you a personal half-price coupon to get into it.
This includes any of the lifetime subscriptions.
And also the six new December Regular Workshops, which in December includes APPLIED DEPTH (back from Classic for one month), along with Writing with Depth, Advanced Depth, Writing into the Dark, Teams in Fiction and Killing the Critical Voice. All start December 3rd and 4th. They are available now.
So any class or workshop or anything on Teachable you want for half price for yourself, write me directly (not in the comments here) and I will give you a code for that class to get it 50% off. And yes, you can do as many as you want, but you will need a code for each one.
We are going to give this solo class sale a try for a week or so. And the Give the Gift of Learning will go into December.
Things From My Past…
Most of you know (especially if you follow Kris’s Promotion Central on Facebook), we love cats. Over time I will be showing here various wonderful cats that have shared our lives over the last 40 years. But I wanted to start with one of our heart cats we lost this year. Cheeps.
I rescued him from a hoarding situation. He was basically indoor feral, but over time, especially when we moved into the place we are in now, he really came into his own and started running the house.
He was mostly blind and mostly deaf, so that wonderful little cheeping sound he used to make when we first got him turned into one of the loudest calls I could ever remember. Middle of the night it was hard to ignore.
Pure-bred red-point Birman, he was beautiful and there isn’t a day goes by that I don’t miss that little guy.

I remember Cheeps’ loud meow’s from some workshop videos. Always made me smile.
