Las Vegas Aces
Championship WMBA Team…
The Aces are trying to repeat as champions and played today against the New York Liberty in the first game of the championship series. They are the leagues two super teams.
Game started at noon and for the first half it might have been the best basketball I have ever watched between two great teams. Just stunning. Aces down at one point by eight points.
Then in the second half the Aces hit full afterburners and came from five points down to at one time being over twenty points ahead. It went from stunning basketball to “Are you kidding me?” fantastic levels on the Aces side. Blocked shots, perfectly run plays, machine-like scoring. Just wow.
And since every seat was sold out and the place was Vegas loud, it was an fantastic fun. See Kris’s Facebook page for some videos as well. Here are three pictures. First me and Kris, second me and Kris and Bridgid and Lisa Collins, third the scoreboard showing the Aces up over 20 points with just three minutes or so to play.
Woman’s professional basketball is amazing and fun to watch. Catch a game next season if you can.

The game was televised here. I caught part of it but clearly missed the most exciting stuff. I would have loved to watch the come from behind run!

Live sporting events are a blast. I’m enjoying my Phillies killing it in the playoffs and my Eagles being undefeated.

Must have been something to see in person. The crowd enthusiasm behind both teams is fantastic. The series may come down to Chelsea Gray. She obliterated the Seattle Storm with 3-pointers in the playoffs last year. New York’s gone hot and cold on shooting, where the Aces guards show remarkable consistency. Still, I’m rooting for Breanna Stewart and NY. Enjoy the games.

We have tickets for the second game on Wednesday and also for the 5th game. Hoping there is no 5th game. Not sure I could handle the stress. (grin)
