Going For It!!!
Starting Two New Challenges for Myself…
Actually, three. And I will be doing every detail of everything all myself. No help from anyone.
That’s right. I will be doing my own covers and my own interiors with Vellum or InDesign. I will be listing them all electronically and with Ingram for paper and hardbacks. And I will be working on my store and getting all of them there as well.
So what is my challenge?
From November 10, 2025 until November 9th 2026…
Challenge #1… I am going to write and finish a new novel every two weeks. So 26 novels, but in the actual year I will more than likely only be able to publish 24 or 25 of them.
Challenge #2… I am going to put together and publish a new ten story collection every two weeks. These will be eclectic and reprint stories since I have so many and so few readers have seen my stories. Mostly these stories have only appeared before in Smith’s Monthly issues. More than likely in the one year I will be able to get all 26 out.
Challenge #3… In the year I will publish 75 major books. Novels, collections, or volumes I edit.
Is that even possible to do on my own????
Sure. The novels and collections above will total to 51 or so.
Smith’s Monthly will restart. That only has my own work in it and is basically a large collection. I hope to do 9 of them ahead of next November’s deadline. That will bring the total to 60. (Those will go to my Patreon supporters.)
With luck, Pulphouse Fiction Magazine will get stable again and I hope to have at least eight issues done by next November as we climb back onto the monthly schedule. That brings the total to 68.
We are doing the huge 100-story Collides books again in January, this time 100 detective stories. DETECTIVE’S COLLIDE will be the sixth in the series. 5 book set. Brings the total to 73 books.
And there are the 5 Pulphouse collections from 2024 yet to be done and the five Pulphouse collections from 2025. That brings the total to 83 books. I think I can make 75. (grin)
I will detail out how things are working and how the writing is going at times right here on this blog.
And once I get stable on the novels and collections publishing, I might figure out a way for readers and fans to get them quickly and at a lrage discount.
So here I go. Could get really interesting. But remember, I did do 70 books in my 70th year. I know what this is like.

Happy birthday, Dean.
Sounds like a great, fun year. Very inspiring for those of us still finding excuses and not being consistent.

Thanks, Joe. Going to be interesting, if nothing else.
