Decided To Skip Tonight
Four Hours of Sleep and a Fun Day…
I got all the way through the day, sat down at my writing computer around 2.a.m. and just laughed. Not that I most likely could have done a story. I am sure I could have.
But it was time to get sane and get some rest. Had only four hours of sleep last night and have to be up early tomorrow as well and a story was going to stop that because I would write until I finished it.
I have often done two stories in one day, so next week, after things have calmed down by a billion miles, I will schedule time to do two stories and get back on pace. Not worried in the slightest.
Sometimes you have to just push hard as I have done this last week and sometimes you have to know when to laugh and give it a rest for a day.
The Day
Put it this way, it was a wonderful writer and learning day. Worked some on workshops, got up way, way early for that and other business stuff. Then met with a writer this afternoon that was passing through town, then had dinner with nine other professional writers.
Then back to WMG at 8 p.m. to have a wonderful business writer gathering with eighteen or so professional writers. Fantastic fun and I learned a ton. Have an entire page of notes. Thanks everyone.
So by the time I got home around midnight, did assignments, finished up some email, and got to my writing computer, it was two a.m.
Time to be sane and skip a day of writing, do two stories in a day next week to be back on target .
Honestly, kind of proud of myself for making that decision since even a shorter story would have kept me up until almost five and I have to be up at 11 a.m. Far too old to have a four hour night’s sleep followed by a six hour. Nope.
So night everyone… Off to get some real sleep and take care of myself.
