Brand and Licenses

Famous To Get Licenses?

Most authors think they have to first be famous to get a major license in anything. Nope. Not even slightly.

But you do have to be a good storyteller and have your work out wide so people will see it. No gaming person or movie person or streaming person is going to go dumpster diving into the cesspool of AI that is Kindle Select. Nope.

  • You must have your work out wide with a good brand.
  • You must be a good storyteller that readers want to read.
  • You must know copyright. Protect it and never lose it.
  • You must own your work, meaning AI never touched it anywhere.
  • You need to know who to turn to when a license approaches you. (Never an agent.)
  • You must never give your work away for free for any reason.

Notice, not one of those says you need to be famous.

We are doing the 40K Seminar right now and not one time in the 4 weeks are we going to focus on major licenses. But if you do get your business and writing up to making 40K a year and more, you have more chances that someone wanting a license from you will approach you. Why, because you will have more readers and people who can offer a license are readers.

So work on your brand, work on becoming a better storyteller, and finding more readers and the licenses will come if your project is right.
