Big Estate Move
Ready as We Can Be…
Worked until almost 1 a.m. at the estate house. Packing boxes and sorting through garbage. As I told Kris tonight, our friend’s house is one-third the size of our house and had ten times the amount of stuff in it.
Chris York and J. Steven York came by again today and worked for hours with me. Lifesavers. And Kris brought me food and drink and checked in at times to make sure I wasn’t buried under a pile of garbage.
Steve tackled a garage that I had just walked the trail through, afraid to even look around. He found some really amazing stuff out there in that treasure hunt.
And Chris, for the second day, got clothes ready to go tomorrow to the women’s shelter. A massive task since our friend had great taste in clothes, shopped all the time, and never tossed anything away.
Our second store will now have a silk scarf area (maybe a few hundred) and a part of the bookstore will soon be cookbooks. (Maybe three hundred of them.)
Thank you Chris and Steve for giving up your writing and work time to help on this!!!
Thursday (later today) is the big move. About sixty boxes going to the warehouse at WMG plus a ton of other stuff, plus at least two or three loads to the dump. And massive stuff going to charities all over town.
It is turning out our friend will end up in her death giving some great help to a lot of needy people. Makes all the work worth it, actually.
Then after tomorrow I call in the auction folks to come and give an estimate on the furniture.
This is taking a crew of a dozen by the time it is all said and done. Unlike with Bill’s place, it’s not just me this time.
Thankfully!
Thank you again Chris and Steve and Kris.
And one last word before I go rest this tired body… GET YOUR WILL DONE.

Glad to see the above. And thanks for the reminder in an earlier post about letting someone know about your publication history and how to continue it.
