One Day Left!
WMG Holiday Spectacular Kickstarter 2023… The WMG Holiday Spectacular 2023 campaign funded in 45 minutes, hit the first stretch goal in under 24 hours, and was given by Kickstarter a PROJECT WE LOVE designation that is really hard to get. Now it just went past its fifth stretch goal, plus we added a special stretch goal which it hit. If you have been studying Kickstarters, go take a look at how we did the Story in this one. I think it looks really nifty. And fits the Holiday Spectacular perfectly!! And how cool is all the holiday merchandise??? Since there are three books, with three beautiful holiday covers, we licensed…

Anthology Workshop Is Back!!!
After Three Years… Before my big crash and burn and surgery, we had planned to announce on November 1 that we were starting up the Anthology Workshop again. We wanted to give everyone time to make plans. The sales copy is below. I wrote some of it before the crash and burn, but Allyson Longueira at WMG finished it, and Stephanie Writt did the cool flyer. If you want to sign up, here is how you do it…. If you have attended an in-person workshop before, simply send the $900 fee to PayPal using this address: dean@wmgpublishingstore.com Then email me that you have done so. I will let you know…

The Challenges of Day Two…
I’m Learning… I’ve got no energy until I suddenly do. And then it only lasts for a very short burst. So, managed to get one thing recorded last night, hope to work on a couple more tonight. Please bear with me. I will be late on some workshops. And late getting responses back to homework. Also, I am working hard on some really cool stuff that predates this accident. One of which I will announce tomorrow because the WMG staff has helped me get it together. This is something we’ve been talking about for a long time. Some of you will be excited. I am very pleased with how well…

Good First Recovery Day…
Started In On Workshops… …but going to be very slow. So some workshops this week will be a day or two late. Please bear with me. E-mail will take me even longer. No other real updates, other than slow progress. Kris went on a 5K run this morning, and I slept through the whole thing. She did great, and so did I by sleeping. Thanks again, everyone, for all the support.

First Full Day…
Beat Way To Describe It… Ouch! Not taking any opioids, so pain managed by regular stuff, and managed is a little euphemistic to say the least. I am in a big brace that Ron Collins came up, and helped me and Kris figure out how to get me in an out of the brace and a garbage bag over my huge bandage so I could shower. THANK YOU RON!!!!! Excited about how well the new special stretch reward on the Kickstarter is doing. We’re trying to get to 160 backers by Sunday evening. Take a look and please pass the word. Really appreciate that. Thank you, everyone, for all the…

Made it Home…
Long Day… Hunting and pecking to make sure I get my blog done. Kris will update you on her Facebook page. Wearing a massive brace on my right arm so going to take some time to set the keyboards so I can use both hands with the brace. My first surgery in 72 years and first broken bone(s) in 72 years. Nurses and doctors were always shocked when they first looked at my age and asked how I fell and I said running a 5K. Seemed all went well. Kris knows more about that. I am home and alive. I want to thank Chris and Steve York for putting up…

Made It Through

Surgery Report
Kris here: Dean came through the surgery with flying colors. The surgeon said it was textbook and Dean did great. The OR nurse said he did great. The Recovery Room nurse said he did great. I’ve been with a lot of people who’ve gone through surgery and this is the first time I’ve heard a chorus of “great” about a patient. Everyone was worried about the anesthesia since it was his first time, and he did that great as well. He’s awake, in his room, and charming the nurses. With luck, he’ll be discharged tomorrow. Thank you all for the support. We both appreciate it.

Op Tomorrow…
GLAD TO BE ALIVE… Even with this eye-watering pain every time I move. I managed in the split second at high running speed to try to roll into the fall. (old training) So my right shoulder took the impact, shattering it but not my skull. Without that learned training, no telling. In 72 years, first broken bones and tomorrow first operation. I have been charmed. See you on the other side. (hunt and peck one-handed is slow…)

Day Three…
