75 Challenge Update,  Challenge

Another Update On My Challenge…

Still On Track!

For those who have missed the craziness of what I am attempting, because I got so behind in publishing my short stories over the last numbers of years, I decided I was going to publish 75 major books in my 75th year on the planet. That year started on November 10th, so I am almost halfway through and about where I expected to be considering the learning curves.

A major book is a collection, a novel, a stand-alone novella, and a non-fiction book. All my new collections for this will be 10-story collections.

Where is my progress exactly? Basically I have about 40 books put together with covers done. About 22 of those are collections, but I ran into a wall on Sunday when I realized I had no idea where about a hundred stories were. They were not lost, but some were listed in my spread sheet and a ton were only in files and I had two Mary Jo short stories I had not even give to Kris to read for that collection for the overdue Kickstarter reward.

So all day Sunday, I searched for stories in files and added them to my spread sheet so I could put the ten-story collections together and make sure I didn’t duplicate anything. I have another full day of that at least.

In the end I will have between 400 and 500 stories I want to put into collections. I have 22 of the collection together now.

So I am about 40 books in one state or another. On target and I plan on our next Kickstarter to be a bunch of these original collections with many stories never seen before anywhere, including Smith’s Monthly.

And yes, Smith’s Monthly is still on the plan.

Here is a few more of the science fiction collection covers I did this last week. I also have a lot of mystery collections and fantasy collections.
