Story #15 on Day #15
Starting Stories Toward Publication…
Starting in a day or so, after the dust settles here from the In-Person Space Opera class, I will start getting a story per day to Kris to read. I will be doing covers for each story as I go along and of course writing a new story per day. But the story Kris sees will be a few weeks behind where I am at in the writing.
Then the next step in making sure I have something to do with these stories is to put the first 10 into a collection, maybe with an unpublished story from a previous challenge. I will do the introduction to the volume and to each story and along with each cover get them to Steph at WMG.
Once we have it together, I will put on my Patreon page the collection and a month later we will publish it.
I will also be firing up Smith’s Monthly. And after the end of the first month the large monthly collection.
I will also have a Shopify store where I will be posting one story per day to read on the site and all the stories and collections will be available as well as all my other work.
So the path to publication of these stories will finally be starting. To say I am excited that I have gotten this far and am starting this step is an understatement.
I will do updates on each step of the way as they happen.
THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT KICKSTARTER…
Speaking of short stories, Kris put 50 of hers and I put 50 of mine into a fun Make 100 Kickstarter called Series Collides. Super cool books and fun as well. The campaign did very well, so thank you!! Everyone.
And I will be reading steadily for Pulphouse of the stories sent in from backers of the Pulphouse Kickstarter. I should have them caught up by the time the stories start coming in from the backers of this campaign. We hit all the stretch goals with this. Fantastic and thank you all!!

Also, for the first time since 2018, we are offering a lifetime subscription to In-Person classes. This includes all craft nd the Anthology workshop and any other in-person classes we do into the future. (This is never given away as a challenge reward on Teachable.)
And credits from Teachable or the Everything Subscription on Teachable do NOT apply.
The cost for a Lifetime Subscription to all In-Person workshops is $3,000. This also includes a Lifetime Subscription to the Study Alongs which costs $1,500. Write me if interested and also write me to sign up for any of the In-Person workshops…
And note, Kris and I were talking about doing a class on Licensing In-Person right ahead of the Licensing Expo in late May of 2026. Not scheduled yet, but would be added into the Lifetime to In-Person subscription of course.
MENTORS…
The offer that Kris and I extended earlier this week on mentorships is still available. Kris only has one left of her two. See the blog earlier on here for information and write me if you have questions.
WRITING STORY #15…
As is my problem so far, I started too late at 1:30 am. Just way too late to start but all the workshop stuff, business, and lack of sleep just wouldn’t allow anything sooner.
So smashed two half-titles together, one from a list of half titles from Ellery Queen Magazine in the 1960s and another from a list from Fantastic Magazine of the 1970. “In Control My Darling” and off I went on a Marble Grant story.
It was voice and seem to write itself, not on a fun topic, and with a short break I finished it at near 2,000 words.
