A Glimpse of a Day Around Here…
Kris has a new blog post this week about negotiating and other topics. It has some stunning advice that if you follow will help you a great deal. She learned that from hard knocks, folks.
Also, as you read her post, keep firmly in mind the Magic Bakery concept.
But her blog also gives you a few hints of what a day around here is like. Kris and I talk about this kind of stuff she gets or I get. She makes the final decision on her stuff and I make the final decision on stuff like that coming to me. But we talk about it.
I’ve been asked what a normal day is like with two writers in the same house. The answer… there is no normal day.
Especially now that the indie world has taken over.
Today, for example, I found myself at one point talking about comics and light, at another point in another store, moving glass cases, at another point having a meeting about a new concept of sales, at another point working with credit card machine people, then email answering writing questions, then working on a new Kris Diving Universe novel, then reading some challenge novels. And the entire day started off with web site stuff. Plus I cooked a brand new meal I had never done before and had two naps.
Tomorrow will be similar and very different at the same time. I will be working on Pulphouse Magazine, working on putting another issue of Smith’s Monthly together, doing more reading, and being in all three stores at one point or another. And I think we are ready for the eclipse.
Kris’s new post gives a slight glimpse into a successful writer’s life and business. She is just as busy as I am, only on different tasks and some tasks the same. But she talked about negotiations and those take up time and I seldom talk about them. So this blog is worth the read for writers and the curious in my opinion.

THE UNIVERSE BETWEEN BUNDLE
I curated this bundle and I had great fun with it.
I loved living in that middle ground. All my writing falls in the middle ground between two places. Every story. Some more obviously than others, but without a doubt, every story or novel that I write, or every book or magazine I edit, falls in the “between” place.
This bundle not only helps a fantastic charity with Ablegamers.com, but it has some stunning novels by some great writers.
And it has an entire volume of Fiction River. A lot of short stories in there as well.
Give this one a look, folks. I think you will be very happy you did.
