Minor Life Roll

Really Minor…

Went out Tuesday evening to head to the Ace’s game and we had a flat tire. A very clear nail. So luckily Ron and Lisa had not left and we caught a ride with them.

Yes, we do have a second car, but the battery had been killed by the heat and I was just sort of waiting around to let the heat drop some. Extreme desert heat just kills batteries, and even though our cars are in a contained parking garage, the summer heat still got the battery after three years.

So today we walked to a pizza place that was close, even in the heat, and then I called Triple A.  We have been Premier Members for decades and it is worth every penny. Plus at 75 my changing tires days are in a distant rear view mirror. In fact, Kris reminded me that the last time I even got involved with changing a tire was when were were in the Idaho mountains, exploring an old ghost mining town called Delamar. Thankfully a couple of hunters were camped nearby and came and helped. That was 15 years ago.  I was 60.

So Triple A sent two different trucks, one to pick up the car and take it into the dealership and the other to switch out the battery.

We had one car on the main floor, the other on the 4th floor of the parking garage, and, of course, both service trucks arrived within minutes of each other. New tire by tomorrow, new battery in today. And Kris got both of us signed up on Lyft for the first time in case something this silly happens again. Can’t miss those Aces games, you know.

And even with all that, and the heat, which I do not do well with. I still worked on five different collections today, getting different parts done in each, and then put together two more tonight. A crazy but good day, even with the minor life rolls.
