Some Fiction Campaigns That Are Worth Studying and Backing…

I do this every Friday when I have a few campaigns I think are worth putting here. Tonight no one sent me any campaigns to do, so I found three that are worth looking at.

I will not say much negative about a campaign. If there is too much or it is going to fail, I won’t post it here.

And for those wondering where I get off judging Kickstarter Campaigns by fiction writers, I have now done 59 of them, every one funded and made money. My first campaign was in the very early days of Kickstarter. But if yoy are going to study campaigns that I have done, study the last year or so. I am continuing to learn.

And like some people browse and waste time on Facebook, I browse and waste time looking at campaigns on Kickstarter.

SOMETHING TO HELP YOUR CAMPAIGN…

I am doing a Kickstarter mentorship.

That’s right, one-on-one, I will help you build and launch a book kickstarter in the next three or four months (or whatever works for your timeline) that will fund, and get you readers for your books, then I will continue to help you with how to fulfill the campaign.

Fear stopping you. Or just not getting around to it. I can be the engine and deadlines that get you going and you can start any time with any project.

And then in the following six months I will help you with a second campaign. You will have two successful campaigns from this and have the confidence to keep doing more. (I will of course be around to answer questions.)

So afraid of doing a Kickstarter? Can’t pull the trigger? Or just want to do it right?

I have done 59 of them successfully and will work with you personally, one-on-one to help you launch a campaign that will fund. And then fulfill and launch a second one, fund, and fulfill.

Basically I will be your private Kickstarter instructor. I plan on learning a lot and having a blast, and helping you realize how much fun campaigns are as well.

Cost is $1,000 fee for my mentorship. Simply send the fee to PayPal and use the email dean@wmgpublishingstore.com.  We can start with your first one any time you would like, and at this point, we can slowly put it together to be ready for next year. Questions, just write me.

Now To This Week’s Spotlighted Book Kickstarters

As I said, no one sent me a campaign for this week, and considering the week and such, no surprise at all.

So I went looking and found three that might be worth taking a look. I am not suggesting you back any of these. They are all anthologies with early-stage writers. And no known editors, so honestly, my bet is there are a few really great stories, a few okay ones, and a few not readable.

Still, if you are looking for new writers, really, really new writers, you might take a chance on these.

The idea here is a flawed one for Kickstarters. The idea goes like this… Hey, let’s get a bunch of writers together and they will all promote and everyone will make lots of money. In two of these, I doubt if there is much social media or mailing lists or anything for most of the authors. That is a main part of doing these this way.

So, the upshot is expected, with only a few thousand raised on two of them, my gut sense is they might make $5000 by the end. One of them has 40 authors with 40 stories. They must be flash fiction because 40 stories are going to be almost impossible to put in one book otherwise. Yikes.

There is one that is a group of bloggers and podcasters who got together and wrote stories. They all have an audience, so that one is going to crack $50,000. That is doing it right with the promotion, but still not counting on the quality of the stories and it will have very high expenses.

However, the quality of the art is off the charts. And the campaign is super well done. And has some beautiful limited books. That one is worth studying.

So here are all three. Take a look, they all do a bunch of things right and all funded, so study formatting and such, and back if you feel adventure in reading.
