Some Fiction Campaigns That Are Worth Studying and Backing…

I do this every Friday when I have a few campaigns I think are worth putting here. Tonight three campaigns.

I will not say much negative about a campaign. If there is too much or it is going to fail, I won’t post it here.

And for those wondering where I get off judging Kickstarter Campaigns by fiction writers, I have now done 59 of them, every one funded and made money. My first campaign was in the very early days of Kickstarter. But if yoyu are going to study campaigns that I have done, study the last year or so. I am continuing to learn.

And like some people browse and waste time on Facebook, I browse and waste time looking at campaigns on Kickstarter.

SOMETHING TO HELP YOUR CAMPAIGN…

I am doing a Kickstarter mentorship.

That’s right, one-on-one, I will help you build and launch a book kickstarter in the next three or four months (or whatever works for your timeline) that will fund, and get you readers for your books, then I will continue to help you with how to fulfill the campaign.

Fear stopping you. Or just not getting around to it. I can be the engine and deadlines that get you going and you can start any time with any project.

And then in the following six months I will help you with a second campaign. You will have two successful campaigns from this and have the confidence to keep doing more. (I will of course be around to answer questions.)

So afraid of doing a Kickstarter? Can’t pull the trigger? Or just want to do it right?

I have done 59 of them successfully and will work with you personally, one-on-one to help you launch a campaign that will fund. And then fulfill and launch a second one, fund, and fulfill.

Basically I will be your private Kickstarter instructor. I plan on learning a lot and having a blast, and helping you realize how much fun campaigns are as well.

Cost is $1,000 fee for my mentorship. Simply send the fee to PayPal and use the email dean@wmgpublishingstore.com.  We can start with your first one any time you would like, even next year. Questions, just write me.

Knightess of the Realm: Spicy Epic Dragon Romantasy series! by Mangaia McNamara

This is a small second campaign that is doing well Managaia did all the art in this as well. There is far too much text in the story for my tastes, but it seems to be working, although I doubt anyone would read through it all. Kickstarter backers tend to like images and scan a lot. But this is complete, of that there is no doubt.

It has funded and is doing well and if you like this kind of romantasy, would be worth backing.

Deserted Lands Trilogy: Signed Limited Edition Hardcovers by Robert L. Slater

Another small campaign, this one a first one, that has gotten a good start and has funded, As with the first one tonight, way too much text in the story and I have no idea why there are pictures in this one with character names. Never in 50 years seen that help sell one book. Authors do it when writing, sure, but readers don’t care, they make up how the characters look by the descriptions in the book.

As a brand new backer to the campaign, I have no idea what all that cryptic stuff at the start of the story meant about a contest and it sure was not a good opening to any story. Sure, stretch goals have been met or something like that, but first get the readers/backers into your story. Never do that. Just sets up road blocks. There is a reason this part is called “Story.”

Again, this is Roberts first one and it has first-timer mistakes, but the covers look pretty good and if you can figure out all the strange rewards and tiers and contests and stuff I had no idea on, and you like these kinds of books, this would be worth backing.

Thrilling Adventure Yarns 2026 by Robert Greenberger

I have known Bob for more years than I suspect either one of us would like to admit. And I share his passion for the old Pulps and the writers of that era. And to be honest, the Jeffrey Hayes cover for this book is to die for. Especially with Lupin on the cover. Just flat stunning. Wow!

For some reason, Bob does not want Kickstarter helping him in these campaigns, so he sets his goals on all of them with the actual amount he needs and it is slow, very slow, funding. But he tends to hit it each time. This one I don’t imagine will be an exception because this campaign is very clear and his stretch goals done perfectly.

Plus the writers writing pulp-style stories for this anthology are some of the best working in the media and trenches of writing and I know and admire a lot of them.

You want 15 or 20 great pulp-style stories written by top writers, this is absolutely the one to back. And study it. So clean, so clear. Just flat perfect campaign.
