History of Science Fiction Through a Personal Perspective
New Four Week Class Without Assignments
This is a stretch goal that was hit in our last Kickstarter. It has not been sent out to all backers and also all Lifetime Everything Subscribers have it in their subscription.
History of Science Fiction From a Personal Perspective
Kristine Kathryn Rusch and I have been around science fiction for a very long time. I sold my first short story to a small science fiction magazine fifty-one years ago.
During the early decades in the field of science fiction and fantasy, we got to know many of the writers and fans who helped start and build the genre. You see, science fiction is a very young genre.
Granted Mary Shelly and Jules Verne and H.G. Wells wrote early stories, but it wasn’t until the early 1920s with the advent of many pulp magazines that Hugo Gernsbeck coined the phrase “science fiction.” So just over a hundred years old now.
So Kris and I are going to put our memories together and I am going to tell some stories about the fantastic men and women we met and got to know and learned from who were in those early days, and the middle generation as well, the writers and fans who started everything in 1939 and many were new writers in the fifties and sixties, just ahead of me and Kris.
This will be four weeks long with what we hope is a lot of knowledge and some entertaining stories. No assignments, just information and entertainment.
Cost is $200 for the four weeks. Again, no assignments. Link to get in is

FANTASTIC TWO WORKSHOPS IN NEW KICKSTARTER…
Our current Kickstarter campaign ends Thursday, and at that point the two fantastic special workshops will never be available again.
Floating Timelines has so many elements to it, the challenge will be to fit it into three weeks. Might be some longer weeks.
And the special class Atmosphere is just not more depth. Way beyond depth, actually.
Both classes are a little more advanced than we normally offer for Special Kickstarter workshops, but both of these fit the two books Kris wrote, so we figured why not…
Don’t miss them.
