Golf, Kickstarter, and Story #30
Fun Day!
It was a stunningly beautiful day and professional fiction writer Ron Collins and I walked down to the Strat to hit golf balls. Ron is a good player and I used to be. But now I am 20 pounds overweight and have a new Titanium shoulder, getting any kind of control of the ball is a challenge.
And a lot of fun. A lot of laughs, actually.
But toward the end of the hour I had worked out a few things and was managing to hit shots against the back fence. Without hitting either side fence.
Then this afternoon I started writing before taking a nap and cooking dinner. Story #30 is a Cold Poker Gang story. Finished working on that around 2:30 am.
I also spent an hour working on the new MARBLE GRANT Kickstarter campaign. It starts up on Tuesday. Four books of MARBLE GRANT stories.
I had someone ask me what MARBLE GRANT stories were like. Marble Grant is a ghost who works with her partner and love, Sims, another ghost, in Las Vegas to save people and stop crime. I asked the person if they had ever seen the movie Topper or read the Thorne Smith books Topper and Topper Takes a Trip or seen reruns of the 1950s television show. Topper is a stuffy banker haunted by two fun-loving ghosts. Marble Grant and Sims are very, very fun-loving.
The person had never heard of Topper or Thorne Smith, which made me sad twice over.
Anyhow, I’m excited about the campaign and wait until you see some of the merch. Super fun.
And two really fun workshops as well. One on learning how to write ghost stories and the other on learning how to write paranormal creatures of all sorts in any genre. Vampires, werewolves, talking bats. I think both Alexa and Siri are paranormal creatures, so that workshop should really be fun.
Launching Tuesday at noon.
