Saturday Night Fun…
Missed my five miles today, got four, because I wanted to rest my legs. And had fun at the auction.
Every month here in town (on the first Saturday of the month for the past 35 years) there is an auction. More social for me since I seldom miss one, but also there are no minimums and trust me, antiques do not sell out here on the coast. A person could make a living buying antiques worth thousands for $50 here and hauling them to California.
But tonight in the hour I was there I managed to get an entire box of silver. Mirrors, combs with silver spines, things like that, plus silverware. Many marked sterling. Entire box $30.
And I got an entire box of Coke bowls and plates. Eight each. Glass with the old Gibson pattern on them. All for $30 as well. On eBay the bowls and plates would sell around $150 for all of them. I imagine we will sell them in the stores.
So fun talking collectables with friends and making a little money as well.
Home to take a nap, cook a late dinner, watch some television, then do some workshop assignments, then get to writing.
Spent only about two hours at it with a break to get 1,800 words. Then went to read some short stories in the challenge.
Speaking of challenge, still room for a few more crazy folks in the novel challenge starting the first of June. The rules are back on https://deanwesleysmith.com/a-novel-challenge/

MAJOR WRITING BUNDLE
Just FOUR days left. Don’t miss this one. Very, very inexpensive education.
Amazing stuff for only $15 or $20 bucks. And AbleGamers is the charity on this bundle, which is one of the best causes I have ever seen.
Authors in this are Mary Buckham, Tonya D. Price, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Lawrence Block, me, Maggie McVay Lynch, Leah Cutter, Chuck Heintzelman, and Joanna Penn. Plus a $50 lecture from WMG, a discount to get Jutoh, and a discount to all the stuff at a Writer’s Cafe.
You can get it all for $15.00 or $20.00 and give some to AbleGamers. If you are serious about learning your craft and business of writing, this is about as cheap as it comes, folks.
