First Report On Licensing Expo…

First Report

To start off with, the best way I can describe this year’s Licensing Expo is great! And bigger.

And no chance I saw everything in three days, And even with walking down an aisle two or three times, I still wouldn’t see something until the third day.

It has been over a week now and we are still just starting to make contacts with some of the people there we connected with for various reasons.

Steph even did an hour of “Speed Licensing” on Sunday. She will explain it on Writer’s Direct zoom meeting on WMG Writer Store. I can hardly even imagine it. (grin)

Kris had some great appointments that might or might not pay off, but if they do, they will be very good.

I just mostly talked with people for three days, soaking in all sorts of ideas and ways to go for our business and our brands into the future. I did not get a chance to talk with anyone at CBS Paramount about the Twilight Zone Magazine license, but Loren has the contact information again after six years. Doubt it will happen but something we just keep doodling with.

Even though I played with licensing-in a few times, mostly all the time was licensing out, meaning I owned the IP and Brand and was looking for partnerships. Distributors were missing this year or I missed them (very possible).

A number of young writers had booths, the first time I had seen that. They seemed to be very excited at how they were doing and the contacts they had and were making. That was interesting.

So I am still very tired, but recovering. I will do more updates here after Kris and I and Steph talk about things next week.

MARY JO ASSASSIN Kickstarter campaign… Launches on Tuesday.

This might be my weirdest and most fun for me to write character. A thousand year old assassin that works for the Assassin’s Guild and kills people if the money is right.  She looks 25, beautiful, deadly. And she loves life and vodka orange juice.

This campaign has two novels and two collections starring Mary Jo.

Here is the Kickstarter Link to read the introduction and have Kickstarter let you know when it starts.

And yes, you read that correctly, Kickstarter already gave us a Project We Love designation. How cool is that?

Don’t miss this one. Starts Tuesday at noon.
