Day Eight of a Seven Day Novel Challege
Day Eight of a Seven Day Novel Challenge
Nope, still didn’t make it. But I honestly wasn’t pushing very hard today. Sort of had the pressure of the challenge gone.
Also, if I got it done tonight or tomorrow or Saturday it would make no difference since it has to go to WMG on Monday no matter what.
So I decided to not stress about it. Did my 10,000 plus steps (five miles), took a long nap, cooked dinner, did some e-mail, then managed with some television scattered along the way to actually get 4,300 words in three hour-long sessions and a half hour session.
Good enough and easy. Now going for a full night’s sleep.
And basically hit about 100,000 words so far this month total. Onward.

A slow day is like a walk break during a run. It’s strategic 🙂 On my end, remember how I thought my publisher was all gold? Well… ask Kris about that buried basket accounting clause. She’s helped me extract my head out of my butt yesterday. That, and a lawyer letter, and having to repaint an apartment for rental, had me stick with just publishing and processing beta and proof-reader comments for the last 3 days. I have to get some new words down tonight.
Your walking is an inspiration, BTW. I keep track too, and my phone app doesn’t detect certain kinds of movement. If it’s too smooth or too slow, it doesn’t count. So I can move cautiously through the woods for 3 hours, mushroom hunting. Or be in a karate class, where efficiency and smooth movement is key. Or paint walls, where I don’t want to jounce around. It’s telling me I’m sedentary. *It’s lying.*
