Change of Format Again
Change of Format Again…
Okay, I tried the other form for an entire week and honestly, some of it worked and some of it didn’t work for me and some of it didn’t work for numbers of others. Got a few comments, but mostly private e-mails saying people liked the new form on the main page and they liked being able to forward and tweet posts, but not the form having to go to another page to see the counts.
So going to leave the new form on the front page. All good there.
And going to keep doing posts that are not cluttered so people can share them with ease if they want.
What is changing is the daily posts will go back to having the running totals and details about my day. You know, cluttered. (grin)
If I do a straight topic as I have been doing almost every day this past week, I will do that in a second post without all the clutter so people can do the sharing thing.
Best of both worlds I hope.
So today is the first day of this new look, sort of going back to the old way inside the posts, with the addition of extra posts at times.
The two pages are now gone, the writing tracking and the running tracking and that information will be here on the daily post again, along with daily word counts.
And again, if I do a topic, it will be in a post all its own, clearly marked.
So onward.
Tracking Running
As I have started to do off and on in posts on my blog, I will now track the exercise focus over the next year here. Most days I will just have the information in the little block below, but wanted to be clear here on my goals for the running now.
And how I am taking a monster goal and breaking it down into bite-sized bits.
The Ultimate Goal: The Rock and Roll Marathon in Las Vegas, Nevada, in November, 2017. 26.4 miles in under five hours.
Monthly Goal: Staring in January to run one half-marathon race (13.2 miles) 10 races total between now and next November, one per month.
January: Lake Mead Half Marathon, Nevada (Goal Time: 2 hrs, 30 minutes… this might be dreaming on the time…)
February: Heartbreaker Half Marathon, Portland, OR (Goal Time: 2 hrs, 20 minutes)
March: Lincoln City Half Marathon, right here. (Goal Time: 2 hrs, 20 minutes)
April: Race for the Roses Half Marathon, Portland, OR (Goal Time: 2 hrs, 10 minutes)
The rest announced later…
I will also track my weight since that is a critical element of all this. I need to be at 170 pounds by April. I have lost 26 pounds since this last summer, so doing fine so far.

Tracking the Running
November 19th, 2016
Walked 3 miles. No running today.
Weight 194… 24 more to goal.
Month to date distance: 51 miles
56 Days until the first half-marathon…
Note about the day: Got a decent weight-loss graph/chart set up to drop the ten pounds by the middle of January and the first half-marathon. Spent a lot of time looking at that marathon to see if I really wanted to try it. I think I do. More hills than I would like.

Comments About the Writing of the Day: Still just puttering along. Not sure why exactly. Mostly just resting and not giving the book a lot of hours. That causes lower word counts every time. (grin)
