Researching Kickstarters…
All kinds of things authors can use Kickstarter to study. The biggest one is just flat ideas for promotions and merch and so on. There are some stunningly innovative humans doing Kickstarters these days. A great place to find ideas that would work for your book.
Why I was taking a break from finishing my massive challenge to look through Kickstarter projects was my blog for tomorrow night. Looking for new projects to promote. I have some restrictions that make getting onto my blog and my free promotion sometimes hard to get. I outline it every week at the start of my Kickstarter Friday blog.
The largest one is that I don’t promote campaigns that focus on limited edition books. I promote campaigns that focus on reading and fiction. No one reads a limited edition book. But these campaigns do really well, for the most part, at least in gross. What the writers make in the end is another matter left for a different blog at some point.
The second largest one is I will not promote any writer so damned lazy as to use AI in their books, art, or Kickstarter construction.
So right now, tonight, I am giving up looking at Kickstarter because there are few I can find at the moment with the election sucking all the attention from the world (as it should).
So if you happen to have a project you would like me to look at and either promote your promotions page or the campaign itself, fire it to me. But read what I am looking at first on my weekly Friday blogs.
And oh, yeah, I found a couple of campaigns where the covers were so bad, I could not read the author name and the campaign was listed from a publishing name. Wow, such stupidity is amazing.
