Another Quick Update…

Got the Data Off the Old Computer…

But still not set up on email yet to recover all that. With luck, tomorrow will be that.

Even found my password book, which is helping a ton on different things.

Computer experts did a great job with the recovery considering that my username was totally nuked and gone.

And I am growing used to this new smaller iMac. Biggest stupid problem is only two ports.

So I think up next for me is a MacMini or the next step up with two huge screens. But this will serve for a time.

I have a 2013 iMac that will not update OS, so I’ve been looking at the MacMini because the new iMacs don’t have enough ports.

I have a scanner, a dvd external drive, all need to work. When you look at the pictures of an iMac you don’t see an external drive for TimeMachine, so I don’t know what they are doing.

I need a real computer with a big screen, and many ports, not these weird toys they are designing these days.

Here in Santa Fe the best DSL connect speed I can get is 1mps. There is no access to high speeds like in Albuquerque, so any external cloud drives are nonsense.

I got a new MacMini to replace my ten year old MacMini this year, which could no longer cope with the demands of the internet; it’s now my writing machine sans anything that connects it to anything on the web.

If you need lots of ports, think about getting a base station too.

      Thanks, that helps.

I could not figure out why the new iMacs were getting less functional as the new generations came out.

They used to be the pro tool for movies and graphics.

The ads today don’t inspire me for a work computer. HA!
