A Complete Store Day

A Complete Store Day

From the moment I got out of the house until I got home at midnight (I ate lunch and dinner up at the store), I worked on the new store (except for a short trip out to our original store to pick stuff up).

Turned out to be about 11 hours straight.

I will show pictures of the store when we open on Wednesday. But below is one of me on a ladder working to put up one of our temporary signs. (Our nice wooden signs won’t be in for about a month. There will be five of them on the front of the huge building.)

To give some scale, that banner is 4′ x 8′. And there will be an identical one on the railing on the other side of the main entrance.

Josh, the store manager is holding the ladder. Allyson took the picture while talking with someone from the plant store. Also working in our store at that point was Billy, WMG Publishing Head of Sales. He was working on pricing books and Cinda was working on the jewelry section.

Today, besides one of the two temporary banners, I worked in hanging hundreds of mint in pack Hotwheels cars. Six or seven hundred left. I also hung more X-Men and Batman MIP characters.

I also hung “the door” and it has now found it’s final hanging place, keeping customers out of our back room and Kris’s office back there.

It did put up a good fight.

Patreon Supporters and Smith’s Monthly Subscribers

As planned, I got second issue of Smith’s Monthly out today to subscribers and up on Patreon.  One more on Monday.

Looks like we are going to pull off this first phase of catching up. Now I just need to get back to writing next week for the second phase.

Topic of the Night: Nope

The old body is aching from too many times up and down ladders, fighting a door into place, lifting and moving boxes and so much more. I don’t feel like a young man, but I think I acted like it today.

Online Workshops

June online workshops all have openings, including the new Teams in Fiction workshop. We are halfway though the month. The list in June is a good one and so is the list in July. And note the July workshops don’t start until well after the 4th.
