Challenge

A Busy Day!

And a Fun Day…

Spent the day working on the 40K Seminar, also finishing up another collection in my challenge, and, of course, watching the Aces win in overtime after being twenty points behind. At one point in the second quarter, I was going to leave the game and head to the grocery store, but then Jackie Young got on a tear and made up all by herself most of those 20 points the Aces were behind.

And then Chelsey made a 3-point shot at the buzzer to send it into overtime and then did it again in the last second to win the game. Wow, if you are not watching the W, you are missing some of the best basketball being played.

So on the 10th, I will give an update on my challenge with exactly three months to go. Until then, stay cool and keep writing.

So is it safe now to send them stories? Pulled this blurb from an article I found.

Following intense pressure, public boycots, and months of legal back-and-forth, Must Read Magazines officially backed down. In January 2026, the publisher announced it had fully revised its boilerplate contracts to adopt SFWA’s recommendations. They completely removed the moral rights waiver and scaled back the merchandising overreach. While the markets have retained their “pro market” financial status because the actual pay per word remained at professional levels, the rollout severely damaged writer trust, and the community remains highly vigilant.

Always was safe to send them stories. Just no contract you would ever want to sign if they wanted your story.

And this came from SFWA…. Excuse me while I just stumble off laughing…
