When I contacted writers last spring to see if they wanted to be in this StoryBundle, I asked them for an exclusive bundle, something readers couldn’t find anywhere else.

I expected a lot of “Sorry, no” and only got a few…because the writers were going through life issues and didn’t have time to compile something new.

Everyone else said an enthusiastic yes, and that enthusiasm carried over into the offerings themselves. All of these bundles within a bundle are exclusive, and some of them will never appear again. They’re a once-in-a-lifetime reading treat.

My rough count finds 47 individual books inside this bundle. Forty-seven books from fifteen different contributors. The reason my count is rough is that many writers, myself included, put together every single story in a series, whether that story was long or short. So if there are a bunch of short stories in a bundle and a novel or a novella, I count that product as two books.

I didn’t even try to do a rough page count. These are ebooks after all, and pages in an ebook are ephemeral. If these books were put into print, some of the volumes would be so large that the spines would break. Thousands of pages as opposed to hundreds of pages per volume.

Even the authors themselves provide varied tones and subject matter. Usually, when I write a StoryBundle blurb, I try to lump the books into categories by author. I’d say something like this author wrote in that subgenre or both of these authors decided to contribute collections.

But writers decided to go all over the map. Some, like Ron Collins, included the first books in two of his series…and his first short story collection. (Okay, explain that.) Robert Jeschonek combined the three books in his Earth Warrior series with two different short story collections, and the tone in those books couldn’t be more different.

Some of the writers made it easier on me (because it’s all about me, you know. LOL). Lisa Silverthorne included the three books in her wonderful Curse and Crown series, which is enemies-to-lovers romantasy. DeAnna Knippling contributed four books in her Fold Magic series, which is contemporary fantasy set in Colorado’s Front Range.

Then there are the collections, from Dean Wesley Smith’s warped imagination to the stories that Annie Reed wrote to theme for various Uncollected Anthologies. None of these tales can be pigeonholed.

Rather than continuing my struggle to lump these volumes into categories that don’t really exist (Most books: Anthea Sharp) (Best Titles: Jason Adams), I’m going end this introduction here. I’ll have more to say in my curator’s notes.

But I will add this. I’m really proud of this StoryBundle. All exclusive, all fascinating. All good. You can’t go wrong picking up the bundle and spending the rest of your summer reading. You just can’t.
