Power Words for Authors…
Most Authors Have Trouble… Hyping themselves in any fashion is just not a “comfortable” thing for writers to do. In the sales copy class, the first assignment was for each writer to come up with 10 power words that they could use in sales copy to describe themselves. Power words are words (not clauses) that carry emotion with the word. There are negative, neutral, and positive power words full of emotion. We wanted ten positive words a writer could use in a promotion sentence about themselves. Numbers of writers got ten, numbers put full clauses, and so on. Time To Consider Them… Power words, just their existence, baffles writers. Actually, most writers never consider them. Writers who know how to use them, just use them. If you don’t know how to use them, it still happens by accident at times, just no control or focus.
