Novel Two: Day Six
Back Writing at Full Steam…
(As a reminder, the overall monthly challenge is to write four novels and gain distance every week on my step count, starting the first week at an average of 11,000 steps per day.)
The Day Went Like This…
I made it to the WMG offices just at 4 p.m. after doing an hour of e-mail. I slept in way too late, but seems I needed it.
Went out walking and ended up with right at 10,000 steps for the day. Didn’t hit the 12,000 today because I just didn’t give it the last half hour of work.
I worked on workshop stuff up at WMG for 2.5 hours, then headed home to take a nap, cook dinner, then get in here and do more e-mail and then reading for the challenge. That was another 2 hours.
Then I moved over to my writing computer and got going.
From midnight until 1 a.m. I wrote 1,100 words.
Took a short break, another 900 words before watching a little television, then taking another short nap.
Then from 2:30 a.m. until 3:15 I managed 1,200 words.
Novel is back moving, but I got a hunch I have a bubble (character loop) that will get cut out. But I’ll deal with that later when I am finished.
3:30 a.m. until 4:15 I did another 1,100 words while eating celery and peanut butter.
By 5 a.m. I had managed another 1,300 words.
One last get up and walk around, pet a cat, then I did another 500 words before the brain said I was done.
6,100 words in 6 sessions.
Felt good to be rested and have a full day again. Pacing is your friend with something like this.
TOTAL WORDS FOR THE MONTH…
Not counting my writing replies on comments on this blog and others, my total word count for the month just went past 100,000 words. 68,900 words of that is fiction. Not bad for 13 days. Onward.
And this week I am just 3.5 hours short of a 40 hour week working my day job. One more day to go for the seven day week.
Those of you using work as an excuse to not write might want to take note of that. And those of you using the fact that your day job is at a computer as an excuse, realize so is mine. Just saying. (grin)
